While enjoying a successful career, Les remained completely dedicated to his family. The treasured time Les spent at home with Joyce, their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren was his passion. Les and Joyce were always a fundamental part of their lives, and their presence and direction was instrumental to all. Les enjoyed the game of golf and was a member of Champions Golf Club in Houston Texas for many years. Les’s work took him all over the world, and his experiences and travel provided a wealth of great stories that he often shared with friends and family. Les’s love of science, his natural curiosity, and interest in learning continued every day of his life. After retiring Les continued to enjoy traveling with friends as well as family to Italy, France. Turkey and Argentina having fun, enjoying great wine, and of course always learning. Myra Dorene Trahern, born and educated in Eastern Oklahoma went home to be with her Lord on April 19th, with loved ones by her side in her home in Broken Arrow. Shortly after she and Wayne married, they moved to the Tulsa/Broken Arrow area where she began her banking career of 40 plus years. She loved to travel but she also loved home. She and Wayne enjoyed gardening and fishing together and they thoroughly enjoyed making memories with their daughter, Rhonda, and her family. Although distance made things difficult, it was her joy to be involved as her granddaughters grew up and now her great-granddaughters' lives as well. Myra was a person that could be described as a very capable leader but also did not mind doing things behind the scenes. Whatever task that she was performing, she wanted to please the Lord. This equipped her to love and serve people well in all walks of life. She served in several capacities before becoming VP at Liberty Bank, which is now Chase. During that time, she had the opportunity to join EWI, (Executive Women's International) and advanced to become not only the President of the Tulsa Chapter but also Internationally. She loved her church, (FBC, BA) and served in the women's ministry, ladies bible study, as well as several other areas. She loved her Sunday School class and was known to take food or visit those who needed some extra care. She will be terribly missed by many friends and family but we are thankful for the godly legacy she left; and we can rejoice knowing that she is completely whole and healed in heaven with Jesus her Savior. He was an avid fan of the OU Sooner football team, and enjoyed following local sports on television, radio, and in several newspapers. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and the Central Texas Area Museum in Salado. She was preceded in death by her husband. Jacobs, 80, resident of Salinas for 33 years, died Tuesday in a local hospital after a long illness. She was a native of Paris, Mo., and had resided at 1476 Watsonville Rd. Her husband, John A. Jacobs, died in 1940. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Crawford and Mrs. Edma Matlock of Salinas; a granddaughter, Darlene Pitchford, also of this city; two sisters, Mrs. Francis Steland, Brookfield, Mo., and Mrs. Della Boyd, Paris; a brother, Dee Harris, also of Paris, and a nephew, George Pallisier, Vallejo. Services will be held Friday, 1:30 p.m. in Struve and Laportes Chapel. Interment will be in the family plot, Garden of Memories. on May 19, 1965.¹

She was a homemaker as well as a retired shed worker. She was a member of the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Workers Union Local No. 78 of Salinas. Mrs. Crawford is survived by one niece, Darlene Gates of Salinas; one grand-niece; one grand-nephew and one great-grand-niece. Friends may call the Healey Mortuary. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. on April 11, 1990.⁷

She was 81. Mrs. Matlock, who was a native of Broadlawn, N.D., had lived in Salinas 55 years and was a homemaker. Mrs. Matlock is survived by one daughter, Darlene Gates of Salinas; one sister, Ruth Crawford of Salinas; two grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.      His Social Security Number was 479-10-6399.⁵ William Brink was buried at Resthaven Park East Cemetery, 4310 East Southern Avenue, Phoenix, Maricopa Co., Arizona.⁴ He was born on August 13, 1897 at Orange City, Sioux Co., Iowa; His WWI Draft Registration card has a birth date of Aug 12, 1897.^6,5,1 He married Mary Emily "Emma" Johns, daughter of John Johns and Adeline Ruhama "Addie" Conner, on August 6, 1924 at Sac City, Sac Co., Iowa.^2,3 William Brink died on February 8, 1974 at Glendale, Maricopa Co., Arizona, at age 76.^5,4 He GLENDALE - William Brink, 76, who retired as regional sales manager after 37 years with the Maytag Co. of Newton, Iowa, died Thursday in Maryvale Samaritan Hospital. Mr. Brink of 5828 W. Royal Palm Road moved to Arizona in 1963 from Grand Island, Neb., and lived in Glendale the past two years. He was a member of Maryvale Christian Church and a native of Orange City, Iowa. Survivors include his wife, Mary E. and two brothers and three sisters out of state. Burial will be in Resthaven Park. on February 9, 1974.⁴

     John David Leonard was buried at Tahoma Cemetery, Yakima, Yakima Co., Washington.⁴ He married Clara P. Johns, daughter of John Johns and Adeline Ruhama "Addie" Conner.^5,6 John David Leonard was born on January 20, 1889 at O'Brien Co., Iowa; His WWI draft card has a birth year of 1888.^2,3 He died on November 14, 1965 at Yakima, Yakima Co., Washington, at age 76.¹

     Wayne W. Leonard was buried at Tahoma Cemetery, Yakima, Yakima Co., Washington.^3,5 He Wayne W. Leonard was born on June 16, 1921 to John and Clara Leonard in Sioux City, Iowa. He passed away to be with the Lord November 21, 2013. Wayne moved to Yakima with his parents when he was two. After graduation from Yakima H.S., he joined the U. S. Army in 1942. He met LaVon “Bonnie” Shiell, who would become his loving wife for 55 years, while attending the U.S. Army Central Signal Corps Training Center at Camp Crowder, Missouri. After returning from WWII service in Europe the couple married on October 10, 1945 in Neodesha, Kansas. They made Yakima their home in 1945. He worked at various auto parts distributors including Dick Marson Pontiac and Yakima Valley Ford. Wayne was a caring, loving, and thankful man. A wonderful husband, dad, grandpa, and great-grandpa. Family meant everything to him. He enjoyed family camping and fishing trips. He delighted in teaching his children and grandchildren to fish. Wayne and Bonnie attended countless sporting events involving family and were very involved with their grandchildren. They also enjoyed many years traveling in their motor home and boating at Rimrock Lake. Wayne cherished every moment he spent with his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and they with him. Outside of family, Wayne treasured obtaining his pilot license. He was a life member of the American Legion Post # 36 and VFW Post # 379. He served numerous leadership positions including American Legion Post #36 Commander, State Chaplin, and was active with 40/8. This led Wayne and Bonnie to many conventions. Wayne was preceded in death by his loving parents and wife. He is survived by his daughter Marchia Engquist and husband Mike of Yakima; son Jerry Leonard and wife Tally of Portland, OR., five grandchildren, Robert Engquist of Yakima; Jason Morgan and wife Christine of Black Diamond, WA; Stachia McCrary of Sumner, WA; Jerry Leonard, Jr. and wife Suzie of Hillsboro, OR; Matthew Leonard of Portland, OR., and eight great-grand children, Mikayla Engquist and Creed McCrary IV; Ryan and Courtney Engquist; Luke and Chloe Leonard; Natalie and Ashlyn Morgan. A private family internment will be held in Tahoma Cemetery at a later date. Memorial remembrance may be made to American Legion Post #36 in Yakima, WA. Our family extends a heart felt thanks to Dad’s great neighbors and friends Don and Marlys Kerr; to Cedar Hills Adult Residential Care, especially Cece, Sue, Sam, Wanda, and Ruth; and to Beth of Memorial Home Care Hospice.
