     Martin Joseph Mannix was buried at New Cathedral Cemetery, 4300 Old Frederick Road, Baltimore, Maryland.3 He was born on March 16, 1895 at Fitchburg, Worcester Co., Massachusetts.1,2,3 He married Ruth Cecelia Banks, daughter of John Robert Banks and Mary Geneva Drummond, on December 22, 1921 at Overlea, Baltimore Co., Maryland.1,5,6 Martin Joseph Mannix died on May 25, 1952 at Ocean City, Worcester Co., Maryland, at age 57.3,4 He Martin J. Mannix of Gaithersburg, collapsed and died while attending a Maryland Knights of Columbus convention at Ocean City yesterday. Mr. Mannix, 57, was grand knight of Montgomery Council 2323, K. of C. He was attending the convention as a delegate from Montgomery County. Death apparently was caused by a heart attack. Mr. Mannix had been retired from the Government for five years because of a heart condition. He was chief electrician at the National Institute of Health in Bethesda at the time of his retirement. Just before he was stricken Mr. Mannix had nominated Crescent Bride of Rockville for the office of State treasurer. Mr. Bride was elected. The Rev. Neil J. Gargan, S. J., pastor of St. Ignatius Church, Bel Alton, was at Mr. Mannix’s side when he was stricken, and administered last rites of the church. Mr. Mannix is survived by his widow and their twin sons, who, are in the service. One son, Seaman 1/c Thomas Martin Mannix, is in Korea. The family is waiting to hear that he has been notified of his father’s death before completing funeral arrangements. The other son is Corpl. John Martin Mannix, stationed at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware. He is home on leave. Mr. Mannix also leaves three sisters. Mr. Mannix was a native of Fitchburg, Mass. He worked for the Government 28 years. on May 26, 1952.4
