Genevieve Spencer Genevieve Ficken, 75, formerly of Rhodes, died Monday, January 17 at Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center. Services will be Thursday at Estel-Perrin-Avey Funeral Chapel with Rev Harold Werley officiating. Burial will follow in Eden Cemetery, Rhodes. She was born march 15, 1918 in Barren, Wisconsin to Alfred and Marion Dillon Spencer. She was reared and educated in Colfax and lived there until she married Gerhard W Ficken on September 18, 1937. They lived in the Rhodes and State Center areas and farmed until 1972 when they moved to Rhodes. She was employed by the Marshall County Care Facility until 1975. She attended Rhodes United Methodist Church and was a former member of Rhodes Eastern Star. Survivors include three sons, Carroll "Butch" Ficken, Nevada, Gary W Ficken, Parkville, Missouri and James B Ficken, State Center; a daughter, Marilyn "Cookie" (Mrs Bill) Purdy of Melbourne; 12 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and five sisters, Bea Butler, Concord, California, Berniece Flora, Marshalltown, Edith Northway, Milo, Bessie Morgan of Newton and Edna Wignall of Rhodes. Thressia Sarah Keyes was buried at Pleasantview Cemetery, Ballantine, Yellowstone Co., Montana.3 She was born on April 17, 1896 at Wausau, Marathon Co., Wisconsin.3 As of February 19, 1921,her married name was Reed.3 She married Clinton Charles Reed, son of Charles Daniel Reed and Keturah Addilaide "Addie" Jeffries, on February 19, 1921 at Billings, Yellowstone Co., Montana.2,3 Thressia Sarah Keyes died on December 14, 1967 at Billings, Yellowstone Co., Montana, at age 71.3 She Mrs. Clinton C. Reed, 73, Ballantine, formerly of Billings, died Thursday in a Billings hospital. She was born Thressia Sarah Keyes in Wausau, Wis., April 17, 1896. She came to Worden in 1920 and was married to Mr. Reed in Billings, Feb 19, 1921. They moved to Billings in 1944 and Ballantine in 1954. Mrs. Reed was a member of Ballantine Congregational Church, OES and Navy Mothers of America. Survivors include the widower; four sons, Charles, Brunsville, Minn; Robert R., Worden; Thomas E., 323 Bench Boulevard and Navy Lt. John J. Reed, San Diego, Calif; three daughters, Mrs. Lawrence Thompson, Renton, Wash; Mrs. Marion L. James, 115 N. 35th St. and Mrs. Dorothy McMullin, 4092 Rosebud Lane; three brothers, Dan, Arthur and Stewart Keyes, all of British Columbia, Canada; five sisters, Mrs. L. N. Conn, Great Falls; Mrs. H. P. Chadwick, Dayton, Wyo; Mrs. Frank Gossett, Ballantine; Mrs. Florence Carr and Mrs. Katie Roset, both of British Columbia, Canada; 21 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Ballantine Congregational Church with the Rev. Gale Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Pleasantview Cemetery, Ballantine. Smith's Funeral Home is in charge. on December 15, 1967.3
