Smith and Lucretia Goff, on February 14, 1900 at Watseka, Iroquois Co., Illinois.^3,5 Mary Catherine Hickman died on May 13, 1960 at Lafayette, Tippecanoe Co., Indiana, at age 81.^3,4,6 She Mrs. Mary Catherine (Hickman) Smith, 81, who made her home with her son, J. Clifford Smith, 907 South Eleventh, died at 1:50 p.m. Friday in Scott nursing home. She had been ill about eight years and a patient at the nursing home six weeks. Born near Watseka, Ill., she was reared there, moved to the Covington community in 1900 and back to Watseka in 1924. In 1945 she came to this community. She wa married in 1900 to David A. Smith at Watseka. He was a farmer and died in 1940. Mrs. Smith was a member of the DAV and Royal Neighbors lodge. Her son is the only immediate survivor. on May 14, 1960.³
