Music included vocal solo by Robin Simkins and selection by Anna Lou Hutchings, Connie Torgerson and Carolyn Wood. Gary Hallows gave the benediction. Burial was in the Loa Cemetery by Springer Funeral Home, Richfield, where Robert Brian offered the dedicatory prayer. Pallbearers were Jack King, Vance King, Verland King, Orlo Durfey, Allen Durfey and Vorris Stevens. on June 22, 1983.³

Witnesses said Thompson was struck by a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed in a 25 mile an hour zone. The driver did not stop after hitting Thompson, the witnesses said. on April 22, 1976.⁶
