     Carl L. "Buster" Schaake was buried at Oak Hill Cemetery, Lawrence, Douglas Co., Kansas.¹ He was born on February 11, 1923 at Lawrence, Douglas Co., Kansas.¹ He married Isabelle Virginia Gray, daughter of Belfrad Hampton Gray Sr. and Nellie Virginia Mays, on August 1, 1959 at Miami, Ottawa Co., Oklahoma.¹ Carl L. "Buster" Schaake died on January 20, 2011 at Winchester, Jefferson Co., Kansas, at age 87.¹ He Memorial services for Carl L. “Buster” Schaake, 87, Lawrence, were held Jan. 24 at Lawrence Presbyterian Manor. Private inurnment will be at a later date in Oak Hill Cemetery. Mr. Schaake died Jan. 20, 2011, at the F.W. Huston Senior Living Center in Winchester. He was born Feb. 11, 1923, in Lawrence, the son of Albert Christian and Cecile Darlene Kiefer Schaake. He graduated from Liberty Memorial High School in 1940 and served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. He was a longtime area farmer. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Dorsey-Liberty Post 14 of the American Legion, Travelers Protective Association, Farmers Co-op Association, Douglas County Farm Bureau, the American Association of Retired Persons, the University Bridge Club, the Lawrence Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, and was a Douglas County Extension board member. He married Isabelle Virginia Gray Aug. 1, 1959, in Miami, Okla. She survives, of Lawrence Presbyterian Manor. Other survivors include a daughter, Sarah Gray Leonhard, Oskaloosa; a sister, Fern Schaake, Topeka; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Schaake. on January 28, 2011.¹

     Opal Elizabeth Craft was buried at Minnix Cemetery, Roanoke Co., Virginia.⁷ She was born on August 15, 1934 at Oriskany, Botetourt Co., Virginia.^4,7,6 As of September 3, 1955,her married name was Divers.⁵ She married Wilford Benjamin Divers Sr. on September 3, 1955 at Roanoke, Virginia.^1,2,4,5 Opal Elizabeth Craft died on February 1, 2024 at Virginia at age 89.⁴ She Opal Elizabeth Craft Divers passed from this life into glory on February 1, 2024. Born to the late Jube and Bertha Craft in Oriskany, Virginia on August 15, 1934, she was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Wilford B. Divers, Sr. Opal is survived by son, W.B. (Charlotte), grandsons Luke and Neil Divers, granddaughter Elizabeth (Tony Fuller), great grandson Emmett Divers, and many dear brothers and sisters in laws, nieces, nephews, and friends. on February 4, 2024.⁴

     Octa Marie Jones was buried at Huffman Memorial Park (also known as Chestnut Grove Church Cemetery), Craig Co., Virginia.³ She was born on January 12, 1917 at New Castle, Craig Co., Virginia.^2,5,4 She married Charles Shelton "Cub" Elmore, son of James Robert Elmore and Mattie Pearl Elmore, on November 13, 1937 at New Castle, Craig Co., Virginia.^2,6 As of November 13, 1937,her married name was Elmore. Octa Marie Jones and Charles Shelton "Cub" Elmore were divorced on November 12, 1986 at Craig Co., Virginia.⁴ As of February 10, 1992,her married name was Nolen.⁷ Octa Marie Jones married Roger Elton Nolen on February 10, 1992 at Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia.^8,7,3 Octa Marie Jones died on May 6, 2015 at Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia, at age 98.^3,9 She Octa Marie Nolen, 98 of Salem, formerly of Craig County, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, May 6, 2015. Octa worked at McCleary Elementary for many years in the cafeteria. She was a member of New Castle Christian Church, while in Craig County and attended Moores Chapel in Shawsville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Nolen; son, Jerry Elmore; sisters, Mabel Rutherford, and Oveta Cromer. She is survived by daughter, Lynn E. Foutz; grandchildren, Lester Foutz, Jr. and wife, Deanna, Charlie Elmore, Sherry Foutz and fiancé, Mitchell Paul; great-grandchildren, Jacob Foutz, Josh Mills, and Maria Foutz, Chelsea, Blake, and Olivia Elmore; and many special nieces and nephews. A special thanks to the staff at Richfield Retirement 3 East and the Gentle Shepherd Hospice. Jones and husband, Jeffrey; great-niece, Megan Jones; her special dog, "Miss Heidi"; and special friends, Bev and Margie Whitmer.      Charlene Ann Davis Charlene Furrow, 73, Minot, died on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 in a Minot hospital with her loving husband at her side. She had been struggling with diabetes and cancer for the past several years. Charlene Ann Davis was born on January 7, 1950 in Fort Totten, ND to Saul and Margaret (Jones) Davis. She was raised and educated in Minot and attended Minot State University for two years. As a young adult she was employed at a local dry-cleaning establishment and at Sykes. Charlene married Barry Furrow on December 25, 1988 at Minot Air Force Base. They made their home at MAFB and Charlene was employed at the North Dakota Department of Human Services as a mental health counselor. She retired in 1997. Charlene had attended St. Leo the Great Catholic Church. She especially enjoyed playing pool, collecting teddy bears from most states and caring for her pets. Charlene is survived by her husband of 34 years Barry; children: Vincent, Tony and Linda; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and several step siblings. Charlene was preceded in death by her parents, brother: August Newman and several step siblings.¹ She was born on January 7, 1950 at Fort Totten, Benson Co., North Dakota.¹ As of December 25, 1988,her married name was Furrow.² She married Barry Wayne Furrow, son of Unknown Furrow and Gladys Lillian Hale, on December 25, 1988 at Minot, Ward Co., North Dakota.^2,1 Charlene Ann Davis died on May 3, 2023 at Minot, Ward Co., North Dakota, at age 73.¹
