     Jan L. McGinnis was born on March 6, 1944 at Wabash, Wabash Co., Indiana.^1,3 He married Stephenie G. Kordis on July 22, 1967 at Palos Verdes, Los Angeles Co., California.^1,2,3 Jan L. McGinnis died on November 24, 2007 at Peru Township, Miami Co., Indiana, at age 63.^1,3 He Jan L. McGinnis, 63, Peru, passed away at 12:40 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, 2007 at his home. His wife of 41 years, Stephenie, and his immediate family were at his side. Jan was a man of God and an example of strength and love to all who knew him. His sense of humor and gentle spirit endeared him to many, and he will be greatly missed. He was born March 6, 1944 in Wabash to Verle A. "Mac" and Ruby McGinnis. He graduated from Peru High School in 1962 and served honorably in the U.S. Army in Vietnam, where he was decorated with the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. On July 22, 1967, he and Stephenie G. Kordis were happily united in marriage at the glass Wayfarer's Chapel, Portuguese Bend, Calif. A railroad engineer for Norfolk and Southern from 1967 to 1995, many of Jan's best-told stories were of time spent with lifelong friends he worked with and he greatly enjoyed his vocation. He and his family attended Peru Grace Brethren Church for many years and he was a member of The Bible Forum, where he regularly shared his inspiration and scripture studies with very dear friends. Jan told stories with the wit, charm and spirit of a true Irishman, was a talented artist, enjoyed restoring vintage cars, was a true New York Yankees and Notre Dame fan and was a loyal, devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. Survivors besides his wife include three children, Jason McGinnis and wife Paula, Vail, Ariz., Shannon McGinnis Thola and husband Del, Benson, Ariz., and Rachel McGinnis, Austin, Texas; eight grandchildren, Justin Thola, Morgan Thola, Stetson Thola, Remington Thola, Mandolin Thola, Kirsten Thomlison, Kylie McGinnis and Kayann McGinnis; and a brother, Jay D. McGinnis, Tucson, Ariz. A memorial service celebrating the life of Jan L. McGinnis will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at The Bible Forum, 2348 Randolph, Grissom Aeroplex, Peru.      Ruby Louise Houser was buried at I.O.O.F. Cemetery, LaFontaine, Wabash Co., Indiana.^1,3 Her married name was McGinnis.¹ She married Verle Augustus McGinnis, son of David Arthur McGinnis and Eliza Jane "Lizzie" Howard.¹ Ruby Louise Houser was born on June 18, 1921 at Liberty Township, Wabash Co., Indiana.^1,2 She died on April 1, 1965 at Peru Township, Miami Co., Indiana, at age 43.¹

     Berdene Marilyn Hilderbrand was buried at North Platte Cemetery, North Platte, Lincoln Co., Nebraska.⁴ She was born on April 6, 1924 at Hershey, Lincoln Co., Nebraska.^2,4,3 As of November, 1942,her married name was Roberts.¹ She married Raymond Frank Roberts, son of William Lloyd Roberts and Jessie May Littrell, in November, 1942 at Kansas.^1,3 Berdene Marilyn Hilderbrand died on December 31, 2013 at Sumter, Sumter Co., South Carolina, at age 89.^4,3 She Berdene Marilyn Hilderbrand Roberts DeMilt, 89, beloved wife of the late Carroll DeMilt, died on Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2013, at Tuomey Medical Center. Born in Hershey, Neb., she was the daughter of the late Roy and Lola Potter Hilderbrand. Surviving are a daughter, Radene Roberts Miller and her husband, Tom, of Sumter; two brothers, Jerry Hilderbrand and Don Hilderbrand; a sister, Margaret Moore; three grandchildren, Tom Miller and his wife, Emily, Lori Floyd and her husband, Tim, and Evie Smith and her husband, David; and six great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn. on January 5, 2014.³
