     Dorothy Etta Thompson was born on April 11, 1950.^1,2 She married William Cecil "Billy" Miller on June 5, 1970.^1,3,2 As of June 5, 1970,her married name was Miller. Dorothy Etta Thompson died on August 7, 2014 at Virginia at age 64.² She Dorothy Thompson Miller, 64, of Pilot, passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2014. She was born on April 11, 1950, to the late Dewey I. and Myrtle 'Irene' Thompson of Christiansburg. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, William 'Billy' Miller; daughter, Tammy Akers; son, Christopher Miller; grandsons, Toby Akers, Jr. (T.J.) and Riley Miller, all of Pilot. She is also survived by a son-in-law, Toby Akers; brothers, Dewey I. Thompson, Jr. and wife, Ruby of N.C., and John P. Thompson of Christiansburg; sisters, Doris Kirkner and husband, David of Pilot, Donna Hamrick and husband, Mike Catron of W.Va., Debra Abate and husband, Richard, and Diane Duncan and husband, Larry, all of Christiansburg; brother-in-law, Sonny Miller and wife, Loretta of Floyd; sister-in-law, Carmel Miller of Christiansburg; special nephew, Darrell Sowers of Pilot; special friends, Justin Bittinger and Mike 'Smiley' Scott, both of Pilot; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and co-workers from Wade's Supermarket and the Montgomery County Sheriff's Department. He was born April 3, 1951 at Welch W.Va., a son of the late Allen Oscar and Margaret Ross Conner. He was a graduate of Carmichaels High School and Purdue University. Mr. Conner was self-employed in the aviation field. He was a former resident of Nemacolin, Pa., Chicago, and Los Angeles. He lived in Waynesburg since 1984. Mr. Conner qualified for his private pilot's license at age fifteen and was affiliated with several aviation groups. He was a member of Cambria Pentecostal Holiness Church where he served as Deacon, and was an employee of Federal Mogul. The son of the late Edward M. and Rose Fields Akers he was also preceded in death by brothers, Sidney, Lee and Lloyd Akers. He is survived by his wife, Edith Smith Akers; sons and daughters-in-law, Lindsey Nelson and Vicki Akers, Toby Joe and Tammy Akers; grandchildren, Shane Matthew Akers, Allison Lindsay Akers, and "TJ" Toby Joe Akers, Jr; sisters and brothers-in-law, Edna and Stuart Franklin, Roanoke, Alvie Linkous, Hazel Hinkley, Edith Cromer, all of Blacksburg, Lillian and Doug Revis, Winston-Salem, N.C; brothers and sisters-in-law, John David and Christal Akers, Germany, William Bentley and Bonnie Akers, Giles.      Wilbern Shelton Gearheart was buried at Riverview Cemetery, 1401 South Randolph Street, Richmond, Virginia.^3,11,5,12 He was born on September 19, 1913 at Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia.^{3,4,11,6,7,12} He married Glenice Armistead "Glennie" Woodson on March 25, 1940 at Richmond, Virginia.^2,4,5 Wilbern Shelton Gearheart died on August 18, 1967 at Richmond, Virginia, at age 53.^3,11,5,12 He Wilbern S. Gearheart of 1702 Glenview Road, brother of Alfred Gearheart of Staunton, died Friday (Aug. 18, 1967) at his home. Other survivors include his widow, Mrs. Glencie (Woodson) Gearheart; two sons, Richard T. and Robert W. Gearheart, both of Richmond; two sisters, Mrs. Ida Flinchum and Mrs. Maudie Hubble of Salem; another brother, Ira L. Gearheart of Richmond; one granddaughter. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery. on August 20, 1967.⁵

     Gary Nelson "Hambone" Hamrick was buried at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, 2880 North Franklin Street, Christiansburg, Montgomery Co., Virginia.² He was born on January 15, 1957 at Radford, Virginia.^1,2 He married Donna Elaine Thompson, daughter of Dewey Insley Thompson and Myrtle Irene Richards, on August 5, 1975.^1,2,3 Gary Nelson "Hambone" Hamrick died on June 17, 2009 at Virginia at age 52.² He Gary Nelson (Hambone) Hamrick, 52, of Christiansburg, Va., went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 17, 2009, in the company of his loved ones after a long courageous battle with colon cancer. He was born in Radford, Va., on January 15, 1957, to George Nelson and Shirley Hartsock Hamrick. He was a graduate of Christiansburg High School, Class of 1975. He was employed at Volvo GM Truck Inc. for 33 years. He served in the local union 2069 for many years and most recently as a bargaining chairman. He is preceded in death by his father-in-law, Dewey I. Thompson Sr. He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Donna Thompson Hamrick, of Christiansburg, Va; his two daughters and son-in-law, Marsha and Kelly Harvey, of Roanoke, Va., and Jessica Nicolle Hamrick, of Christiansburg, Va; his grandchildren, Hayden and Kinsley Harvey; his parents, George and Shirley Hamrick, of Christiansburg, Va; mother-in-law, Myrtle Thompson, of Christiansburg, Va; sisters and brothers-in-law, Becky Hamrick Gerald and Gary, of High Point, N.C., and Robin Hamrick Dukes and Scott, of Winston Salem, N.C; his sisters-in-law and brothers-inlaw, Dorothy and Billy Miller, of Pilot, Va., Doris and David Kirkner, of Pilot, Va., Debra and Richard Abate, of Christiansburg, Va., and Diane and Larry Duncan, of Christiansburg, Va; brothers-in-law and sister-in law, Dewey (Tommy) and Ruby Thompson, of Concord, N.C., and John (Port) Thompson, of Christiansburg, Va. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, greatnephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
