Rebecca Smith died on December 14, 1847 at Shelby Co., Indiana, at age 59.2,4,5,3 She I will give you a brief account of the life and death of Rebecca Conner, who died at her residence in Shelby county, on the 14th day of December 1847, in the 62nd year of her age, having been a soldier of the cross for almost half a century. Her house has even been the house of God, where the saints met to worship. Of the thirteen children which she raised to maturity, eleven have through her influence joined the army of the Lord, some of whom publicly advocate the principles taught them by their mother. A few evenings before her death, she called her children around her bed, gave tham a parting blessing, and much good advice. And when the hour of her departure had come, with christian resignation, she boldly stepped down into the "dark valley and shadow of death," leaning on the "rod and staff of Jehovah," and gave the fullest evidence that she "feared no evil."
