     James Leonard Teeter was born on November 26, 1923 at Charlotte, Mecklenburg Co., North Carolina.^1,2,3 He married Faith LaVerne Carroll, daughter of Phillip Samuel Carroll and Mamie Viola Goin, on May 27, 1989 at Richmond, Virginia.¹ James Leonard Teeter and Faith LaVerne Carroll were divorced on September 30, 1991 at Goochland Co., Virginia.⁴ James Leonard Teeter died on December 20, 2015 at Richmond, Virginia, at age 92.² He TEETER, James Leonard "Jim," age 92, of Richmond, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 20, 2015. He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Sally and George Washington Teeter; his grandparents, Jennette and Wilson Teeter; his parents, Lexie and William Darrel Teeter; and his sister, Carrie "Sue" Furr Bostian, all formerly of Charlotte, North Carolina. Jim is survived by his wife, Doris Higgins Teeter. Daughters include Linda Barnett, Donna Johnson, and Rena Kozden and husband, Daryl. Grandchildren include Dr. Lori Barnett Sweeney, M.D. and husband, Eric Sweeney, of Richmond, Va; Christopher Lin Johnson and wife, Dana, of Richmond, Va; and Sally Mayberry of Fredericksburg, Va. He was blessed with 13 greatgrandchildren. Jim was born in Charlotte, N.C. on November 26, 1923, and moved to Virginia in 1934, enrolling in Blue Ridge School. In 2002, Jim wrote and published, "An Orphan's Safe Haven," a book detailing his childhood memories and the six years at the school. Jim's career in the healthcare field culminated with the development of Hanover Manor, an assisted living facility in Ashland, Virginia. Jim was one of the key developers of Hanover Manor and remained active in the partnership until his death. Jim had a wonderful spirit, sense of humor, and keen mind, which he maintained throughout his senior years. He loved family and his marriage to Doris was a key blessing in his life. Jim was a faithful servant of the Lord and he always encouraged others to trust in Jesus Christ. on December 27, 2015.²
