Smith and his wife, Betty Gail, of Moneta, and William Noah Poff and his wife, Ellen, of Pilot, Va; two daughters, Karen Sue Bell and her husband, Dewey of Newport News, Va. and Lisa Ann Lynch of Roanoke; two grandchildren, Noah Baine Poff and Tabitha Noelle Poff; three brothers, Shelton Beckner and Allen Beckner, both of Roanoke County, and Gary Beckner of Copper Hill; sister, Florence Carr of Roanoke County; and close friend, William Howard Carter of Roanoke. Rogers Jr., 72, of Cortland, Ill., formerly of Aurora, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2010, at South Bay Hospital in Sun City, Fla. He was born on Aug. 27, 1938, in Aurora. He worked at Caterpillar before earning a teaching degree from Aurora University. He taught classes at Waubonsee Community College and Rock Valley College in Rockford as well as Sunday School at Unity of Fox Valley Church in Batavia. He was also a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose in St. Charles. After retiring, Frank and his wife, Patricia, spent their winters in Florida. Besides his three sons, Frank's proudest accomplishments were being a coach with the Aurora Baseball Association for 27 years. He was very involved with his sons' endeavors from coaching, hockey, baseball, basketball or whatever the boys' interests were. Frank is survived by his wife Patricia; his boys, Carey "Gus" (Debbie) Rogers and Scott (Elizabeth) Rogers; step-children, Kimberly (Gary) Baie and Dusty (Abby) Rhodes; grandchildren, Sherri Kidd, Brandy (Cory) Kennedy, Kristen (Jimmy) Montgomery and Tabitha (Tony) Wolf, Mary Margaret Rogers, Stephanie and Chad Baie, Lauren, Megan and Brett Rhodes; great-grandchildren, Kyleigh, Taytum, Jason Jr., Nathan, Nicholas, Joshua and Hailey as well as his faithful companion, Faith. He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret (Bourell) Darby; step-father, Ira Darby; son, Steve "Porky" Rogers and his loving companion, Pepe. Interment will take place at Fairview Park Cemetery in DeKalb. on January 3, 2011.³
