Nancy was born in Marysville, CA on September 25th, 1927 to Walter and Nancy Dunning and was a lifelong Yuba-Sutter resident. To her family and close friends she was affectionately known as "BeBe". She was the oldest of three children, brother George Dunning and sister Donna Dioguradi preceded her in death. She attended Yuba City High School, where she was head majorette, a member of the choir and tap dance team. After graduating she moved to San Francisco, CA where she worked at Owl's Drug Store on Market street. She returned to Yuba City two years later and was married to Thomas Parsons in 1945. During this time, her father was fire chief at Camp Beale and Nancy devoted many volunteer hours performing for the troops as a member of a singing group. She also worked at Hughes Drug Store, Woolworth's on Dst in Marysville, and was at the Delmonte Cannery for 8 years as a line supervisor. Nancy was very active in "Stitch and Chatter" club, she was a softball catcher for the Yuba City Merchanettes and a member of the Yuba City Bowling League. Later in life she was a devoted wife and mother, a caring grandmother, and a friend to just about anyone she met. Nancy is survived by three children, Steven Parsons of Marysville, Susan Shippen of Marysville, Andrea Parsons of Marysville, 6 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren. Her husbands, Thomas Paul Parsons and Robert Marvin Roof, preceded her in death. Service: Thursday March 3, 1 p.m. at Gridley Biggs Cemetery, 2023 State Highway 99, Gridley, CA 95948 on February 26, 2016.²

Surviving are her loving husband, James Williams; sons, Matthew (Tonya) and Jimmy (Samantha); daughters, Ashley (Jose) and Amber (Joey); grandchildren, Trinity, Easton, Layla (unborn), Joey, Brandon, Wyatt and Addison; brothers, Jackie Hawkins Jr., Michael (Julie) Hawkins and David Wallace; sisters, Stacy Hissom, Tammy Gorko and Kimberly Slaughter; best friend and cousin, Cathy and Greg Anderson; and a lot of special aunts and uncles, several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, at Bartlett-Chapman Funeral Home, St. Albans, with Pastor John Gillenwater and Pastor Paul Bailey officiating. Burial will be in Valley View Memorial Park, Hurricane. on September 5, 2014.²
