Cash was born on September 12, 1916 at Virginia.^3,4 She died on November 24, 2006 at Virginia at age 90.^4,2 She Addelle Cash Thurman, 90, of Roanoke, died on Friday, November 24, 2006. She was the widow of Fred Hampton Thurman and is also preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon T. Hardie. She was a longtime member of the Melrose United Methodist Church. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Shelby T. and Glen W. Cassell; grandchildren, Greg W. Cassell, Holly Cassell Talley and husband Jim, all of Roanoke, Yancy R. Equi of California; greatgranddaughter, Claudia Nakama of California; greatgrandson, Wesley S. Talley of Roanoke; brother, Iverson Myers Cash, Jr. and wife Hazel of Roanoke. Funeral services will be at Oakey's North Chapel, 2 p.m. Monday, November 27, 2006. Interment will be in Sherwood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Roanoke County No. 5 Rescue Squad or a charity of your choice. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Oakey's North Chapel, 362-1237. on November 26, 2006.²

She was born August 18, 1946 in Roanoke, Va., daughter of Fred Thurman and Adelle Cash Thurman. Ms. Hardie enjoyed animals, horseback riding, and gardening. She treasured the times she spent with her granddaughter, Claudia. She was preceded in death by her father. Surviving, in addition to her mother, are her daughter, Yancy Equi; one granddaughter, Claudia Nakama; one sister, Shelby Cassell and her husband, Glen; one niece; and one nephew. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 12 noon Friday at St. Francis Catholic Church, Staunton, Va. by Father John Abe. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at McDow Funeral Home, Waynesboro. Ben Murray, Jr. and life partner Hilde, and David Thurman Murray and wife Linda; five grandchildren, Dylan Hartless, Brittany Nolen, Haley Goins, Nate Goins and Coby Gorsin; three nephews, Eric Murray, Sean M. Murray and Mark Murray; and one niece, Jennifer Murray.
