Parker.² Helen Athelene Walker was born on October 20, 1954 at Oak Hill, Fayette Co., West Virginia.^2,3 She died on April 29, 2014 at Glen Jean, Fayette Co., West Virginia, at age 59.² She Helen Athelene Walker Parker, 59, of Glen Jean, died Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at her home. Born Oct. 20, 1954, in Oak Hill, she was the daughter of the late Alfred Shirley and Mildred Marie Cox Walker. Helen was a former hairdresser and a home care provider, having owned Helen's Home Care. She was an active member of Mount Hope First Assembly of God, where she was president of Women's Ministries. A 1973 graduate of Fayetteville High School, she also graduated from the Beckley Beauty Academy. A brother, Shirley James Cox, preceded her in death. Helen is survived by a loving and devoted family which includes her husband, Jessie O. Parker; daughter, Tiffany Cottle and husband, James, of Sun; two sons, Jessie Parker Jr. and wife, Norma Kay, of Pliney and Jimmy Patrick Parker and wife, Lesie Nicole, of Ceredo; one brother, Alfred Houston "Pete" Cox and wife, Jo Ann, of Oak Hill; three sisters, Iris Cox Poole Fortner of Oak Hill, Diana Sue Cox Walker of Mount Hope and Eunice Carroll Totten of Sun; and eight grandchildren. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, May 3, at Mount Hope First Assembly of God with Pastor Jessie Parker and the Rev. Joan Terry officiating. Burial will be at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity. on May 1, 2014.²
