During World War II, he served with the Army’s 29th Infantry Division in France and Germany and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was married to the former Florence Good, who survives. Mr. Moorehead was self-employed as a truck driver and farmer for many years until he began work 15 years ago at Conair in Franklin. He retired this year. He was a member of the Oil City VFW Post, the Fryburg Sportsman’s Club, the Oil City IOOF Lodge and the Country Club CBers organization. Surviving along with his wife are his mother, Mrs. Marie Hess of Erie; four sons, Kenneth L. Moorehead of Oil City, Eric D., Mark A. and Scott A. Moorehead, all at home; three daughters, Mrs. Russell (Mary L.) Campbell of Meadville, Mrs. Norman (Margie) Sloat, Emlenton, Mrs. Douglas (Brenda) Warner of Cranberry; one sister, Mrs. Forest (Betty) Walter of Cambridge Springs, eight grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren. His father died in 1972. The family will receive friends at the Faller Funeral Home, Fryburg, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today. Funeral services are scheduled at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home with the Rev. Ralph Meyer, pastor of Faith Lutheran Church, Venus, officiating. Private burial services will be conducted at Heckathorn Cemetery. on November 29, 1982.⁴

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her mother, Mrs. Marie Morehead Hess; two daughters, Judith Ann Swartzfager of Erie and Sandra Jane Walter of Phoenix, AZ; four grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the James Haslet Funeral Home in Tionesta. Funeral servies will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home with Rev. Gary C. Lyons, pastor of Pleasantville Community Church, officiating. Interment will be in Heckathorne Cemetery, Venango County. on November 11, 1986.³
