Born October 22, 1939 in Brookville, he was the son of the late Mary Lucille Smathers. Bill worked for Devonian Resources in Pleasantville for 32 years. He was a member of the NRA and a Trustee for the Cooksburg Cemetery Association. He enjoyed farming and horse and tractor pulls. Bill is survived by a brother F. Calvin Bigley and his wife, Elaine of Knox and a nephew, David Calvin Bigley, of Knox. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, William and Catherine Smathers. Friends and family may call on Sunday, November 9, from 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. at the Borland Funeral Home, Inc. in Leeper. Additional visitation will be held on Monday, November 10 from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. David Coul, pastor of Knox United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in the Cooksburg Cemetery. on November 7, 2014.1

She is survived by her children Donald (Shelby) Main, Judy (Larry) Weatherington, Deborah Main (Buttons); grandchildren, Tom (Brian) Westmoreland, Laura (Tommy) Yerkey, Brittany (Michael) Lee; Great-Grand Son, Justin Yerkey. Sisters Frances McLain, Iris (John) Grimsley; special niece Dawn Nelson-Jenkins and her children; Step Grandchildren – Brian, Scott, Challen, Shawn, Jessica, Alex, Cindy, Aurora; Nieces & Nephews – Sandy, Scotty, Billy, Danny, Mike, Jerry, Millie, Debbie, Vicki, Tina, Theresa, John as well as many other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 from 6-8 pm at Horne Funeral Home. The funeral will be held on Wednesday, March 20th at 11am in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jeff Dalton officiating. Interment will follow in Piedmont Cemetery, Shawsville. on March 18, 2019.2
