First to late former Bernadine Ayers and on August 26, 1962 at Bretz, WV, to the former Evelyn Lucille "Lucy" Harris, who preceded him in death October 14, 1998. Surviving are one son; Larry Bernard Reed of Grantsville, WV, one step daughter, Carolyn Weese and husband Bradley of New York and several nieces and three nephews. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Judson L. Reed; two sisters, Flora Nell "Tony" Poling and Olga Phillips and one nephew. He was a graduate of Parsons High School with the Class of 1941. He was a Veteran of the United States Army, serving from October 1943 until May 1946, during World War II and earning the Bronze Star. He was a Supervisor for the former Dorman Mills for thirty years. Bill was an avid West Virginia University sports fan and the Pittsburgh Pirates.
