His death was attributed to cancer. He was born Thursday, May 13, 1943 at Parsons, WV a son of the late Frank R. and Maxine Reed Rightmire. On July 19, 1964 at Cumberland, MD he was married to the former Frances Kay Shipman, who preceded him in death July 9, 2003. They had celebrated thirty-eight years of marriage. The last two years he has spent with his special friend Elizabeth "Beth" Carlson of Ohio. Surviving are his daughter, April Rightmire Rogers and husband Jason, New Richmond Wl; and his two grand-daughters, Kayla Brittany Sheffield and Casey Kay Rogers He was a graduate of Elkins High School with the Class of 1960 and received a double major from Davis & Elkins College in 1965. He was a graduate assistant at West Virginia University before starting his career at Amchem in New Philadelphia, OH that began a thirty year career of traveling nationally and internationally as an executive of several large specialty chemical companies. Upon his retirement he wanted to give back to the community by volunteering at his grand daughters Elementary school as a teacher's assistant; at Fairfield Medical Center at Lancaster, OH as a patient advocate volunteer and finally as a "Health Care Reform" issue specialist for AARP He then came out of retirement to do business development work for Lithko Restoration at Columbus, OH until May 6, 2011. He was a member of the Lake Zurich Lions Club at Lake Zurich, IL and the New Philadelphia Lodge 177, F. & A. M. at New Philadelphia, OH. He will be remembered for his quick wit, one dollar bets, pranks, and in general his zeal for life and love The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 5 to 8 p.m., Tuesday. Final Rites will be conducted at the funeral home chapel Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at 11 a.m. The Rev. Dr. Basil A. Hensley will officiate and interment will follow at the Parsons City Cemetery at Parsons, WV. on May 28, 2011.1

Shipman and Virginia Channel Shipman, who survives at Elkins. On July 19, 1964, she was married to Charles Robert Rightmire, who survives at Thornville. She graduated from Elkins High School, attended Davis and Elkins colleges and was an insurance executive working for Avreco Insurance Co. She also worked at Kemper Insurance Co., retiring in 1987, and Hospice of Central Ohio from 1993 until 1998. She was a Methodist and attended the First Baptist Church in Elkins. In addition to her husband and mother, Mrs. Rightmire is survived by one daughter, April Rightmire Sheffield of Heath; one sister, Margaret Shipman Coyner of Port Orange, Fla; one granddaughter, Kayla Brittany Sheffield; and one niece, Annette Coyner White. In addition to her father, Mrs. Rightmire was preceded in death by one sister, Patricia S. "Pat" Condry. on July 12, 2003.2

He was a lifetime resident of Akron, graduating from Garfield High School in 1951. Bob enlisted in the Marine Corps and proudly served his country during the Korean War, where he earned several medals. Upon his return to the States, he continued his service as a drill instructor at Parris Island. He retired from Goodyear in 1990 after 40 dedicated years of service as a tire builder and inspector. Some of his race tires were on winning cars at the Indianapolis 500. He was also over a 30- year member of the Church of the Master United Methodist Church. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Lora Cunningham; brothers, Richard, William, and David; sisters, Martha Lorenz, Dorothy (Russell) Pfautz, Jean (Paul) Selby, and Helen (Harry) Bailey; and his faithful companion, Boo. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Nancy; brother, Fred (Louise) of Topeka, Kan; his six children, Carol Winther of Englewood, Colo., Robert Jr. of Brimfield, Karen (Bill) Johnson, James (Cambia), Maribeth (Michael) Kalbach, and Annie; his five grandchildren, Krystle and Kyle Cunningham, Fred Winther, and Michelle Esterle and Jacqueline Johnson; and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 25, 2004, at the Church of the Master, 800 E. Market St., with Pastor Bruce Batchelor-Glader officiating. Cunningham and Lora May Reed, on August 9, 1969 at Summit Co., Ohio.1,2 Nancy Louise Purtiman died on February 2, 2019 at Ohio at age 82.2 She Nancy L. Cunningham (Purtiman) passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at the age of 82, with her children by her side. She was born in Holloway, Ohio on May 6, 1936 and her upbringing in that small, tight-knit community forged many lifelong friendships and created the values that Nancy carried throughout her life. She graduated from Holloway High School as valedictorian, class of 1954. After graduation, Nancy took the big leap and moved to Akron, where she began her employment with Goodyear. During her 30-year tenure in the keypunch division, she formed more friendships that would last for the duration of her lifetime. She retired in 1985. Nancy had many hobbies including reading, crocheting, baking and cooking. She was also an avid gardener and took great pride in her flowers. She loved watching birds and always made sure to keep her feeders full. She especially enjoyed attracting hummingbirds. Nancy loved animals, especially cats, a trait she passed on to her children. She was a diehard fan of both the Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Cavaliers. She was an active member of Family of Faith United Methodist Church (formerly Church of the Master UM) where she put in many volunteer hours heading up the free lunch program for over 25 years. Nancy was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Robert L; parents, James E. and Mary Iva (Cash) Purtiman; brother, James (Helen) Purtiman; and nephew, James A. Purtiman. She will be sadly missed by her children, James (Teena Panar) Cunningham, Maribeth (Mike) Kalbach and Annie (James Surma) Cunningham; brother, Raymond (Ellen) Purtiman; step-children, Carol (Dan) Tkach, Bob (Tammy) Cunningham, Jr. and Karen (Bill) Johnson; grandchildren, Ivy Kalbach, Krystle (Steve) Heimberger, Fred Winther, Kyle (Magan) Cunningham, Michelle (Jeremy) Foushee and Jacqueline Johnson; eight great-grandchildren with two more on the way; and a host of other family and friends. Nancy also leaves her beloved dog, Sinji. Calling hours will be on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home and Chapel, 760 E. Market St. Additional visitation will be at Family of Faith United Methodist Church, 800 E. Market St. on Thursday, February 7 from 11 a.m. to 12 noon, immediately followed by the funeral service at 12 noon, with Rev. Ron Shultz officiating. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park followed by a luncheon at church. The family would like to thank the kind and caring staff at Altercare Western Reserve and the teams of 3 East and 3 West at Summa Akron City Hospital for providing such exceptional comfort and care during Nancy's final days. on February 5, 2019.2

Lorenz, 72, went home to be with the Lord on Feb. 24, 1994 at her residence. She was born in Elkins, W. Va., and lived all of her life in Akron. Preceded in death by two brothers, one sister, and a son-in-law, she was a very loving wife to Harry, to whom she was married for 55 years. They promised their love and to grow old side by side. Their marriage of deep love brought two daughters, Judy Caruthers and Linda Sengpiel, in their lives. As the family bond grew, she was the proud grandmother of Todd, Jeff and Harry Caruthers, Rick (Tasha) and Bill Sengpiel, and her only loving granddaughter and namesake, Martha (Bob) Cromleigh. Also surviving are twin great-grandsons, Kyle and Kelly Sengpiel; brothers, Fred (Louise) Cunningham, Robert (Nancy) Cunningham and Richard Cunningham; sisters, Jean Selby, Helen (Harry) Bailey; many nieces and nephews; and a very special boy, Richard "Dicky" Cunningham, who shared her life and love for 39 years. "Treasure the love you receive; above all it will survive long after gold and good health vanish. For as many times as the waves embrace the shore is as many times we will think of you." Frederick Arnold "Fred" Cunningham was born on November 6, 1922 at Akron, Summit Co., Ohio.3,4 He married Louise R. Boyek on February 24, 1945 at Summit Co., Ohio.3,4 Frederick Arnold "Fred" Cunningham died on July 26, 2015 at Topeka, Shawnee Co., Kansas, at age 92.4 He Fred Arnold Cunningham, 92, Topeka, died peacefully at home, in the arms of his loving wife Louise, on Sunday, July 26, 2015. They had just celebrated their 70th anniversary in February. Fred was born in Akron, Ohio on Nov. 6, 1922. He was the son of Fred R. & Lora Cunningham. Mr. Cunningham joined the Marines during WWII and served in the Pacific theatre for 21 months, which included the Bougainville and Pelilu campaigns. Hundreds of letters flowed between Fred and Louise while he was overseas. After his return from the Pacific, they were married on Feb. 24th, 1945. After leaving the Marines, Fred started working for the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. in Akron, Ohio. He retired after 39 years of service, in Topeka, as a Dept. Foreman. After retiring, Fred loved to feed the deer, turkeys, squirrels, possums, and other wildlife that ventured daily into his large backyard, knowing that a friendly man would welcome them. He was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church and a life member and 32nd degree Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, Valley of Topeka, Orient of Kansas and Adonira-Joppa Masonic Lodge No. 0517 A.F. & A.M., Akron, OH. Fred is survived by his wife Louise, son Fred (Karen), Tulsa Ok, son Ray (Joyce), Akron, Ohio, and daughter Barbara (Jeff) Koci, Topeka. His son Randy preceded him in death as did his 8 siblings all, Akron, Oh. In addition, Fred is survived by nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren whom he loved. The Cunningham family would like to thank Midland Hospice for their professional and caring service to our family. on July 28, 2015.4
