Craighead and mother, Virginia Craighead, Nathan is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, Blake Webb, Boones Mill, Brian and Jennifer Craighead; his granddaughter, Brianna Craighead, all of Fisher, Texas; one brother and sister-in-law, Willard (Mulie) and Lucia Craighead, Salem; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Carolyn and Patrick Loop, Teresa and Michael King, Sharon and Darren Frango and Tommy Tucker; nieces, Elizabeth, Barbie Jo, Angie, Bridget and Ashley; nephew, Cody, all of Virginia. He also survived by his Godson, Tevin, a very special boy who called him Pa Pa Nat; his Goddaughter, Aliveya. Nathan will be laid to rest in the Chapel of Devotion Mausoleum at Mountain View Memorial Park. on January 9, 2007.5

Lucia Ann Deeds Lucia Ann Craighead, Aug 17, 1950 - May 8, 2025. Lucia Deeds Craighead, age 74, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, learning, and compassion. Born on August 17, 1950, Lucia was a lifelong educator and devoted animal lover who touched the hearts of everyone who knew her. Known affectionately as Mama, Queenie, and Pete by all who loved her, she radiated warmth, kindness, and wisdom in everything she did. Lucia earned her teaching license from Roanoke College and spent 32 wonderful years inspiring young minds at East Salem Elementary. Teaching was more than a profession; it was her true calling. She lovingly referred to all her former students as “her kids,” and even after retirement, she continued to share her passion for education by supporting her daughter Elizabeth in the classroom. Her love for animals, especially dogs, was unmatched. Their companionship brought her endless comfort and joy throughout her life. Her nurturing spirit, quick wit, and unwavering love will be missed more than words can express. Lucia was preceded in death by her parents, Edna and Dennis Deeds, her beloved “favorite cousins” Melvin and Jo Crowder, and Winsor St. Clair, as well as many cherished fur babies. She is survived by her loving husband, Willard “Mulie” Craighead; her devoted daughter, Elizabeth, and son-in-law, Casey; her cherished dog, Katie; her bird, Squeaky; and her treasured granddogs, Alice and Hazel. Lucia is also lovingly remembered by countless “favorite cousins” and dear friends who held her close to their hearts. Lucia will be remembered always for the love she gave, the lessons she taught, and the joy she brought into the lives of so many.
