     Iva Lavella Miller Mrs. Iva L. Hays, 80, of Clarion RD2 died Tuesday in Clarion Hospital. Born June 20, 1902, in Loleta, she was a daughter of the late David and Bessie Reed Miller. She married Fred J. Hays on September 7, 1921. He preceded her in death in 1973. Mrs. Hays was a homemaker and a member of Clarion Free Methodist Church. Survivors include two sons, William D. Hays and Robert M. Hays, both of Clarion; two daughters, Mrs. Anna Belle Rau of Butler, and Arta H. Williams of Clarion; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Twila Kerr of Summerville, Mrs. Katherine Styers of Clarion and Mrs. Nora Buzard of Fisher; three brothers, Richard D. Miller of Fisher, Calvin Miller of Clarion and John Miller of Toledo, Ohio; and a number of nieces and nephews. Friends may call after 7 pm today at the Goble Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Thursday. Funeral services will be conducted there at 11 am Friday with Rev. Houben Jr., pastor of Clarion Free Methodist Church, and Rev. Floyd J. Taylor, a retired pastor, officiating.      Katherine Inez Miller was buried at Clarion Cemetery, 2nd Avenue, Clarion, Clarion Co., Pennsylvania.2,6 She Katherine Inez Styers, 102, of Clarion, passed away on July 26, 2017 at the Shippenville Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. She was born December 20, 1914 in Clarion on the west side of the Clarion River near the Big Rock by the Toby Bridge. Her father was David Henry Miller and her mother was Bessie Belle Reed Miller. She enjoyed being part of a very large family of brothers and sisters: James Miller, Iva Hays, Victor Miller, Sidney Miller, Roy Miller, Calvin Miller, Richard D. Miller, Nora Bell Buzard and John Miller. She attended the one room school at Trout Run where her future husband also attended. When she graduated, she did a few babysitting jobs, then at sixteen, she began working at the C.A. Rankin General Store in Clarion. On November 7, 1936, Katherine and Wayne Vernon Styers were married in Jamestown, New York. After a brief wedding trip, the couple returned to Clarion and set up housekeeping in the home that Wayne had built on Fifth Avenue. Their first home was a log cabin, somewhat larger than the ones he had been building for Cook Forest camps. Several years later, a larger home was built on the property. Wayne Styers passed away in 1997, and Katherine remained in her home until 2002, when she moved to the home her daughter and son-in-law built on Servey Road with half of the house for her use. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Clarion. She enjoyed playing cards and hosting card parties at her home. She cherished time with her family and recently enjoyed celebrating her "little brother" Calvin Miller's 100th Birthday by attending the party in his honor. Katie is survived by her daughter, Bonnie and her husband Major Ronald Sweitzer, of Clarion; and her brother Calvin Miller and wife Jane, also of Clarion. She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings. Arrangements are under the care of the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory, 330 Wood Street in Clarion where visitation with Katie's family will be held from 10-11 a.m. on Monday. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. on Monday with Rev Randy Evans, Clarion-Forest VNA Chaplain, officiating.      Calvin David "Cal" Miller Calvin David "Cal" Miller of Clarion passed peacefully into the waiting arms of his Savior from his home on November 26, 2018. He was 101 years of age. Cal was born on May 8, 1917 in Clarion, the son of the late David Henry and Bessie Belle (Reed) Miller. On October 23, 1939, he married the former Mildred Lucille Finefrock who preceded him in death in 2004. He then married Jane (Godlove) Beckwith and she survives. In addition to his wife, Cal is survived by his son, Ronald D. Miller of Bellingham, WA; his two grandchildren, Suzanne M. Miller and Jason B. Miller; five great-grandchildren; and his step-son, Scott E. Burns, of Asheville, NC. In addition to his parents and his wife, Cal was preceded in death by his son, Donald C. Miller. He was the last surviving member of his family; his brothers and sisters preceding him in death are James Miller, Iva Hays, Victor Miller, Sidney Miller, Roy Miller, Richard D. Miller, Nora Bell Buzard, John Miller, and Katherine Styers. Cal was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf, bowling, tending to the flowers in his garden and doing yard work, and taking care of his home. He also enjoyed the company of friends and family over a good game of 500 rummy. Cal retired from Owens-Illinois Glass Container in Clarion as a shift foreman in the forming department after more than 30 years. He worked at Clarion Hospital part-time in the maintenance department as well. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Clarion, the Clarion Volunteer Fire Company, and the Clarion Masonic Lodge #422. Arrangements are under the care of the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory, 330 Wood Street in Clarion where visitation will be held on Saturday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Masonic rites will be accorded at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Kevin R. Haley, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating.      Nora Belle Miller CLARION, Pa. - Nora Belle Buzard of Allison Road in Clarion died unexpectedly at 9:10 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 4, 2001, in the emergency room of Clarion Hospital. She was 79. Born Sept. 22, 1922 in Clarion, Mrs. Buzard was a daughter of David H. and Bessie Reed Miller. In the 1940s, she was employed as a telephone operator for Bell Telephone in Clarion, and from 1968-77 was an office assistant for Dr. Woodrow Bashline in Grove City. Mrs. Buzard was a very active member of First United Methodist Church of Clarion and also belonged to the Kingsville (Pa.) Homemakers Club. She was a homemaker and loved people. Mrs. Buzard was married Aug. 8, 1942, to Hilton W. Buzard, who survives at home. Also surviving are: a daughter, Mrs. James (Linda) Ziccardi, Canton, Ohio; two sons, Lawrence H. Buzard, Arlington, Va; and Dr. Russel A. Buzard and his wife, Patricia, San Diego; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers, Calvin Miller, Clarion; and Richard Miller, Fisher, Pa; and a sister, Kathryn Styers, Clarion. Mrs. Buzard was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, James Miller, Sidney Miller, Victor Miller, Roy Miller and John Miller; and two sisters, Iva Mae Hayes and Twila Mowery Kerr.8 She was buried at Limestone Cemetery, Limestone, Clarion Co., Pennsylvania.2 Her Social Security Number was 182-14-4122.9 She was born on September 22, 1922 at Clarion, Clarion Co., Pennsylvania.9,8 As of August 8, 1942,her married name was Buzard.2 She married Hilton Willis Buzard on August 8, 1942.2,8 Nora Belle Miller died on November 4, 2001 at Clarion, Clarion Co., Pennsylvania, at age 79.9,8

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the 99th Infantry Division. He fought in the Battle of the Bulge. Mr. Hays retired from Pennsylvania Electric after 36 years of service at the Piney Dam generating station. He was a member of Clarion Free Methodist Church for more than 65 years. Mr. Hays enjoyed gardening, reading and spending time with his family. He married the former Doris Collett on Oct. 25, 1951, and she survives. Also surviving are two sons, Timothy Hays and his wife, Bobbi, of Inman, S.C., and Gregory Hays and his wife, Carol, of McConnelsburg; three grandchildren, Misty, Alicia and Timothy Jr; and one step-grandson, Charles Barber. Mr. Hays is also survived by one brother, Robert Hays and his wife, Edith, of Clarion; two sisters, Anna Belle Rau and her husband, Richard, of Butler, and Arta Hain and her husband, Ken, of Harrisburg; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory, 330 Wood St., Clarion. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home with the Rev. William Houben, a retired Free Methodist minister, officiating.      Robert Malcolm Hays Robert M. Hays, age 87, of Chestnut Ridge Dr, Clarion passed away Wednesday, December 2nd, at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Butler, PA. Born March 2, 1928, at home in the Hays family farmstead in Piney Township, Clarion County, he was the son of the late Fred J. and Iva L. (Miller) Hays. On June 2, 1962 he married the former Edith L. Beck, who survives. He was a very active member of the Clarion Free Methodist Church for over 60 years, and then became a member of the First United Methodist Church of Clarion. He was a farmer, and then worked for the Clarion Post Office for 30 years retiring in 1988. He was a committed husband and father, and was well thought of by everyone. He enjoyed gardening, tractors, trains, bird watching, reading and visiting with family and friends. In addition to his wife, surviving are his daughter, Cinthia K. Hays, and son, R. Colin (Donna) Hays; two grandchildren, Robert P. and Theresa M. Hays, all of Butler; two sisters, Anna Belle Rau of Butler and Arta L. Hain of Harrisburg; an aunt, Kathryn I. Styers, and uncle, Calvin D. Miller, both of Clarion; and several nieces and nephews. His brother, William D. Hays, preceded him in death. Arrangements are under the care of the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory, 330 Wood Street, in Clarion, where friends and family will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Friday. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Kevin R. Haley, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Clarion, officiating. Anna Belle was a homemaker, and before her marriage, she worked at the Clarion Department of Forest and Waters. She was a faithful member of North Main Street Church of God for more than 50 years where she taught Sunday School for 20 years, was active in the missions and outreach through the church. Anna Belle was a member of the Women of the Church of God and the 60-Plus Group. She was a kind and gentle woman and an amazing gardener, maintaining flower and vegetable gardens into her 90s. Anna Belle was known for sharing her gardens' bounty with and preparing delicious meals for family and friends. She was fascinated by nature and all of God's creatures. She loved bird watching and tending to the bee hive set up in her back yard. Her grandchildren filled her heart with love and joy and she was immensely proud of their accomplishments and character. She is survived by one daughter, Melinda S. Ripper and her husband, John, of Butler; one son, Brian H. Rau and his wife, Nanette, of Butler; five grandchildren, Brandon J. Rau, Kayla M. North St. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the North Main Street Church Of God, 1201 N. Main St. Extension with Rev. Matt Reitz, pastor of the church, officiating. Burial will take place in the Butler County Memorial Park. on July 3, 2016.4

Doris was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Clarion. Doris married William D. Hays on Oct. 25, 1951, who preceded her in death on July 5, 2007. After marriage Doris settled into a life as a homemaker where she lovingly cared for her husband and family until her passing. She enjoyed flowers and gardening, was an accomplished seamstress, and took great pride in always keeping her home meticulously organized and clean. She is survived by two sons: Timothy Hays and his wife Bobbi, of Inman, S.C. and Gregory Hays and his wife Carol of McConnellsburg: three grandchildren, Misty, Alicia, and Timothy Jr; one step-grandson, Charles Barber; five great-grandchildren, Owen and Bennett Hays and Leo, Wes, and Jax Barber. Doris is survived by two sisters: Bonnie Hoover of New Bethlehem and Margaret “Peg” Emrick of Elk City; along with several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Doris was preceded in death by sister: Lois Smith; brothers Robert Collett, Sr., George Collett, Victor Collett, and Staff Sergeant Jack Collett, who was killed in action on March 15, 1945. The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 21, 2020 from 1 pm to 2 pm at the Goble Funeral Home, 330 Wood St. Clarion, Pa with the service to follow at the funeral home with the Rev. Deryl Larsen officiating. Interment will be in Salem Cemetery in Frogtown. on June 19, 2020.3
