She was a lifetime member of the First Presbyterian Church, Covington, where she served as a deacon and elder. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Albert L. Cross, Jr. of Staunton and Theodore Joseph Cross of Roanoke. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn Smith and William F. Earehart Jr., of Covington; daughter, Ruth Ellen Smith of Roanoke; a sister, Jean C. (Mrs. John) Rice of Covington; grandchildren, Cynthia Lynn Earehart of Woodstock, Scott Frazier Earehart and his wife, Carrie Earehart of Greensboro, N.C., and Elizabeth Anne Ayers of Roanoke; as well as many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday, July 3, 1997 in the Chapel of Loving Funeral Home, Covington with the Rev. James A Rohne officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery. on July 3, 1997.¹
