She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Rena Webb, of Callaway; two sisters, Virginia Holden and Annie Prillaman; and three brothers, C.W., Lee Roy and Wiley Webb. She was also preceded by her first husband, Truman J. Ross, and her second husband, Dewey A. Justus. Edith was born June 7, 1914, in Callaway, Va; attended Callaway High School, trained for her RN degree at Jefferson Hospital School of Nursing in Roanoke, and completed post-graduate training in Obstetrics at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal, Canada. At the time of her death she was one of the oldest graduates of the Jefferson Hospital School of Nursing. After a life spent in nursing, she retired in 1973 from the VA Hospital in Salem, Va. In her retirement years she was an active bridge player with the North Roanoke Bridge Club. Survivors include daughter, Nancy W. Ross and husband, Emil Duynstee; son, Truman J. Ross and wife, Janet; granddaughter, Lisa Muscaro and husband, Jim; and great-granddaughter, Chloe Muscaro, all of Roanoke; sisters, Florence Akers and husband, O.P., of Callaway, and Genevieve Hite and husband, Paul, of Richmond; brothers, Buford Webb and wife, Janie, and Paul Webb and wife, Hester, of Roanoke. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. She also leaves her special cat, Oscar; her devoted and loving caregivers, Nancy Price, Betty Davis and Debbie Bastian; and many dear friends and neighbors. A graveside service will be held at the Webb Family Cemetery in Callaway at a future date. on June 20, 2008.6

Florence joined her loving husband, Otha; and two sons Gary and Harry Lynn Akers. She was a loving and devoted housewife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed making egg custard pies to take to her friends and relatives. She was born August 1, 1916 of the late Harry and Rena Webb and was also preceded in death by four brothers, C.W., Lee Roy, Wiley, and Buford Webb; three sisters, Annie Prillaman, Edith Justus, and Virginia Holden. Surviving are her son, Steven Akers (Vicki); daughter, Cassandra Milliron (Jack); four grandchildren and spouses, Jay Milliron (Stephanie), Troy Akers, Monica Shepard (Gary), Joshua Akers (Lynn); and eight grandchildren; one sister, Geneieve Hite; and one brother, Paul Webb. Webb died on November 29, 2011 at Roanoke, Virginia, at age 93.1,10,12 He Beuford Jackson "BJ" Webb, 93, of Roanoke, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 29, 2011. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry T. and Rena Sigmon Webb. Beuford completed his education in Franklin County, Va. He would often say that he was a graduate of U V C (the University of Calloway). Beuford came to Roanoke in the 1930's and quickly got a job as a milkman for Garst Brothers Dairy. In May of 1942 he left the dairy business to join the U S Army, serving as a military police officer during World War II. After the war he returned to Roanoke to serve as a Roanoke City Police Officer for ten years. In the late 1950's he began a long career as a home builder, a trade that he continued until his retirement. Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Janeth Weakland Webb, daughters, Ann Webb Stretch of Arlington; Amy Webb Elliott and husband Ed of Salem; grandchildren, Captain Charles Stretch, USAF Valdosta, Georgia; James Stretch of Arlington; Isaac Elliott and Allison Elliott both of Salem; sisters, Florence Akers of Calloway; Genevieve Hite of Richmond; brother, Paul Webb of Roanoke; and a number of nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the Rescue Mission. Funeral services will be conducted 4 p.m. Saturday, December 3, 2011 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road. Interment will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. on December 2, 2011.1

     Paul Hampton Webb was buried at Webb Cemetery, Callaway, Franklin Co., Virginia.4 He married Hester Jane Wade.4 Paul Hampton Webb was born on March 28, 1925 at Franklin Co., Virginia.3,4 He died on April 6, 2016 at Virginia at age 91.4 He It is with great love and heavy hearts that we say farewell to Paul Hampton Webb of Roanoke. Paul went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 6, 2016. A son of the late Harry T. Webb and Rena Sigmon Webb of Callaway, he was born on March 28, 1925. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry T. Webb and Rena Sigmon Webb; brothers, LeRoy Webb, Wiley Webb, Beuford Webb and Coy Wythe Webb (CW); and sisters, Annie Prillaman, Edith Ross Justic, Virginia Holden and Florence Akers. Surviving is his wife, Hester Wade Webb; daughter, Paulette Webb and Kurt Allen; son, Dale Webb and wife, Judy; grandsons, Dean Paul Webb and Michael Taylor; sister, Genieve (Bea) Hite and husband, Paul; and nieces and nephews. After graduating from high school, Paul served in the United States Army, serving 30 months with six months of it in combat in the European Theater during World War II. After receiving an Honorable Discharge from the Army in March of 1946, Paul joined the Roanoke Fire Department in November of 1947. He retired as Deputy Chief in June 1987, lacking five months of being 40 years. Paul was a member of American Legion #3.He was a member of Antioch Church of the Brethren in Rocky Mount, Va., and attended Oakland Baptist Church in Roanoke. He will always be remembered for the many life lessons that he taught his family and his love and devotion for them. The family would like to thank Sharon King and Missy Stultz for their loving care. The family would also like to thank Carol Via and Susan Williams of VA Home Care, Ashley Davis and Troy Eustache of Griswold Home Care, and Pam Hinkle, Rosie Baker, Pam Casey and Joanna Assalin of Gentle Shepherd Hospice. A service in honor of Paul's life will be held at Oakey's North Chapel on Saturday, April 9, 2016,with visitation beginning at 11 a.m. and the funeral service at noon. Burial will follow at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains in the Harry T. Webb Cemetery in Callaway, Va. on April 8, 2016.4

Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, March 24, 2009, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Simpson Funeral Home and a service celebrating Carters life will be held 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 25, 2009, at Simpson Funeral Chapel with Pastor Dave Rochford officiating. Delores was born on March 16, 1940, in Paint Bank, Va., to Monsell and Hampton Martin. In addition to her parents, Delores is predeceased by her beloved husband, Carter J. Webb. Delores was retired from Lewis-Gale Medical Center where she had served the community as an X-Ray Technician for 40 plus years. Following her retirement from Lewis-Gale, she had worked for several years at Dunman Floral Supply. Delores loved life and people and always had a smile and a word of kindness or encouragement for everyone she met. She will be sorely missed by her family and friends who have shared their friendship together over the years. Those left to mourn her passing are three sisters, Ama Lowe Martin Reid, of Salem, Louvena Anderson Sanders, of Roanoke, and Martha M. Hepfner, of Blacksburg; also to mourn her passing is a special niece, Jill D. Hepfner; her constant companion, her cat, "Puff;" two nephews, George and David Anderson; three step children, Bruce (Butch) Webb, Tony Webb and Robin W. Brooks; and several step grandchildren. The family would like to offer a special thanks to members of the Ferrum College community, especially the President and her husband as well as the staff at Franklin Memorial Hospital for their many acts of helpfulness during this very difficult time. Funeral Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 16, 2011, at Simpson Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Road by the Rev. David Rochford. Interment will follow in Daleville Cemetery. on July 15, 2011.2

He retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad after more than 30 years of service, and enjoyed listening to blue grass music. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee Roy and Lettie Webb; and a brother, Carter Webb and his wife, Delores. Surviving are his loving wife of 50 years, Rachel Webb; daughters, Pamela Blankenship and husband, Ronnie; and Tina Webb; a special grandson, Mitchell Webb Blankenship; brother Don Webb and wife, Gale; sister, Gatha Radford; and serveral nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank the nursing staff on 6 West at Lewis Gale Medical Center for their excellent care and concern. Akers, 94, of Callaway, went to be with the Lord on March 14, 2009. He was born October 18, 1914, a son of the late E. Garry and Bevelene Akers. He was also preceded in death by his brother E. Garry Jr., two sons, Gary Lee and Harry Lynn Akers. Surviving are his loving and devoted wife of 74 years Florence W. Akers; one son, Steven Akers and wife Vicki; one daughter, Cassandra Milliron and husband Jack; four grandchildren and spouses, Jay Milliron (Stephanie), Troy Akers (Amy), Monica Shepard (Gary), Joshua Akers (Lynn); eight great-grandchildren.
