     Kathy Ann Nichols Kathy Murphy, Sep 2, 1960 - Jul 14, 2023. Kathy Ann Murphy of Roanoke, Va., passed away on Friday, July 14, 2023, at the age of 62. Born in Callaway, Kathy graduated from Cave Spring High School. She was a loyal employee of Fink’s Jewelers for many years. Kathy loved and lived life to the fullest. Her love of Jesus and family were known to everyone she knew. Kathy was quick to extend her Savior’s grace. She found joy in giggling with her grandkids, celebrating all things holidays, whistling, planting and tending to her flowers, cooking a delicious meal, sharing a good laugh with friends and family, snapping, singing and flat footing to a favorite bluegrass song or hymn and sitting beachside with her devoted husband, Murphy. Kathy is survived by her father, Burton Nichols; mother, Carol Nichols; her husband, Dennis F. Murphy; sisters, Janette Link and Sherry Arthur; son, Matthew Nichols and wife, Danielle; daughter, Allyce Burdette; daughter, Autumn Dimassimo and husband, Ron; grandchildren, Ellie and Tate Dimassimo, Hailey and Caleb Nichols, and Fayth Poff; as well as a great grandchild; and nieces and nephews. Kathy leaves behind a legacy of genuine love. Her beautiful smile and spirit are forever engraved in our hearts. We find peace knowing she now rests in eternal joy with Jesus.      Alvah Wayland Arthur Jr. Alvah "Wayland" Arthur Jr., Feb 16, 1960 - Feb 28, 2021. A. Wayland Arthur Jr., 61, of Roanoke, Virginia, passed away peacefully and went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 28, 2021. He loved life, his family, and friends.      George McClellan Mann Jr. George McClellan Mann Jr. “Rusty”, of Roanoke Virginia, was born March 18, 1930 in Mullens, West Virginia to Sue Slusher and George Mann Sr. Rusty ended his time on earth November 10, 2020 at the age of 90. He passed very peacefully in his home with the love and care of two of his daughters and the remarkable and gentle care of Good Samaritan Hospice. Rusty was a Korean Veteran, railroad retiree, Mason, Shriner, and Harley enthusiast. Some of the family’s fondest memories were cheering him on as he rode in many parades as a member of the Shriner Motor Patrol. He is survived by daughters, Victoria (Tom) Mann Bender, Sheila (Tracy Sledd) Franklin Mann and Helen Elizabeth Mann; Son, James Alvin Mann; grandchildren, Benjamin McCelland Mann, who he helped raise, Elizabeth Cherie Bender, Caroline Lee Bender, Lauren Taylor Sledd and Adam Fitzgerald Sledd. He is preceded in death by his parents, siblings and the love of his life, Nancy Lee, his wife of 63 years. At Rusty and Nancy’s request a cremation will take place and their ashes spread together at Sherwood Memorial Gardens in the spring of 2021, while flowers are in bloom, with an intimate gathering of family and friends.³ He was buried at Sherwood Burial Park, 1045 Lynchburg Turnpike, Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia.³ He was born on March 18, 1930 at Mullens, Wyoming Co., West Virginia.^2,4,3 He married Nancy Lee Wimmer, daughter of William Sherman Wimmer and Flossie Franklin Green, on June 5, 1955 at Roanoke Co., Virginia.^1,2 George McClellan Mann Jr. died on November 10, 2020 at Virginia at age 90.³
