     Forrest Wayne Mardis was born on November 18, 1963 at Hampton, Virginia.^2,7,6 He married Crystal Hope Cooke on February 2, 2001 at Hampton, Virginia.⁴ Forrest Wayne Mardis and Crystal Hope Cooke were divorced on January 10, 2008 at Hampton, Virginia.⁵ Forrest Wayne Mardis died on March 24, 2009 at Hampton, Virginia, at age 45.^3,7 He HAMPTON - Forrest Wayne Mardis, 45, a lifelong Buckroe Beach resident, passed on to a new beginning March 24, 2009. Born at Dixie Hospital in Hampton on Nov. 18, 1963, Forrest attended Hampton City Schools. He worked as a draftsman for Becouvarakis and Associates for more than 20 years and enjoyed what he did. His love for his dog, "Blue" and his love of music managed to influence us all. His political views were all about patriotism, love of his country and all about all Americans not losing our Constitutional rights. He was a proud Libertarian. Forrest is survived by his parents, Wayne and Maxine Mardis; his sisters, Deanna Lukas and her husband, Jim, Barbie Franklin and her husband, Rocky; his brother, Benji and his girlfriend Dawn. He is also survived by his nieces, Alexis and Ashley and his nephews, Jimmy and Ian, all from Hampton. Forrest had dozens of special friends that meant the world to him, but two very close to his heart, Kellie Burchfield of Smithfield and Martin Huxford of Hampton. In honor of his memory, the family will receive friends from 2 to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2009, at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home in Hampton. The family welcomes friends and family to join in a celebration of Forrest's life at 119 Chichester Ave., Hampton, after the visitation. on March 26, 2009.⁶

DeBoer of Newburyport, Mass; one stepson, Clarence Phillips of Arkansas; one sister, Ellen Bulifant of Newport News; and 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 27, at Zoar Baptist Church, Deltaville. Interment will be in the church cemetery. on November 24, 1998.²

     Shirley Mae Wimmer was born on July 11, 1928 at Warwick Co., Virginia.^2,4 As of February 15, 1946,her married name was Lumpkin.³ She married Edward Clayton "Bob" Lumpkin on February 15, 1946 at Pasquotank Co., North Carolina.^3,4 Shirley Mae Wimmer died on April 25, 2015 at Virginia at age 86.⁴ She Shirley Wimmer Lumpkin, age 86, passed away peacefully at home on April 25, 2015. She was born July 11, 1928 to Robert and Ruth Wimmer. She grew up in Hampton, Virginia where she met her husband Bob Lumpkin. Bob and Shirley celebrated their 61st anniversary, prior to his death in 2007. Shirley was also preceded in death by her son, Clay Lumpkin and her sister, Joyce Greenwood. She is survived by her two sons; Steve and his wife Andrea, and Greg and his wife Zoe. She is also survived by her four grandchildren and her six great grandchildren. Shirley also leaves behind a sister, Barbara Panchision and a host of nieces and nephews. She was an avid baseball fan, especially enjoying her son's involvement in Warwick Little League. She was a volunteer at Riverside Hospital and a member of North Riverside Baptist Church, Shirley had a great love for dogs and all God's creatures. She had dogs throughout her life, many of them rescue dogs which she cherished. Shirley will be deeply missed by her family and friends. The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to Crystal and Paul Housman and Tracy Rock, her niece, for their compassion and care during her time of need. A memorial service will be held at North Riverside Baptist Church, 311 Selden Road, Newport News on Thursday, April 30th at 11 a.m. officiated by Reverend Seth Horrell. The family will hold a reception immediately following the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to an animal shelter of your choice.
