He was deputy sheriff for the Wabash County Sheriff's Department for 14 years and also worked for the Muncie Police Department from 1973 to 1979 and the North Manchester Police Department from 1979 to 1983. Surviving are his wife, Connie L; a son, Jon "Doug" of Wabash; two daughters, Marty Haupert and Kayla Fawley, both of Wabash; a brother, Phillip of Portland; and three grandchildren. Services at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Grandstaff-Hentgen Manchester Avenue Chapel, Wabash, with calling from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Burial in Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Wabash. Memorials to Wabash County Cancer Society. on June 10, 1998.3

     Lois Irene Funkhouser Irene (Funkhouser) Jarrett, 87, Anderson, died Sept. 26, 2007, at Community Hospital Anderson after an extended illness. She was born July 31, 1920, in Vigo County, and lived most of her adult life in Anderson. She was a homemaker and caretaker. She was a member of Beall's Chapel. She was famous for her pie baking. She attended high school in Terre Haute. Survivors include four children and two spouses, Larry Lee and Cassandra "Sandy" Carroll of Greenwood, and Patricia and George Gosnell, Janice Carroll and David E. Carroll, all of Anderson; a half sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Dan Powell of Indianapolis; sister-in-law, Betty Funkhouser of Anderson; nine grandchildren, Melanie and Andrew Kerschbaum, Vicki and Jeff Moore, Eric and Maria Huffman, Christine Keith, Bret and Sandy McKay, Marnie and Jim Short, Tamara and Mark Gaskill, Michelle and Kevin Wethington, and Olivia and Chris Craig; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one niece and two nephews; and a special cousin, Iona Hiddle of West Terre Haute. She was preceded in death by her parents, Coy and Goldie (Hale) Funkhouser; brother, Bud Funkhouser; her husband, whom she married in 1967, Robert Jarrett, in November 1985; and a sister, Eva Anderson. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Pastor John Lane of Wesley Free Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.2 She was buried at Anderson Memorial Park, 6805 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Anderson, Madison Co., Indiana.3,2 Her married name was Jarrett.1 She married George Robert Jarrett, son of Lewis Henry Jarrett and Mary J.
