Survivors include two sons, Robert Gravely and David Gravely, all of Urbana; one sister, Dora Jones of Beckley, W.Va; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter, three sisters, nine brothers and one grandchild. Mr. Gravely retired from the University of Illinois as an equipment operator. He was a member of Curtis Road Church of God, Champaign. Memorial contributions may be made to the church. on December 24, 2016.2

A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today (Sunday, June 23) at Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, 1900 S. Philo Road, Urbana. Pastor Christopher Smithey will officiate a funeral service at 11 a.m. Monday, June 24, at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery in Urbana. Mrs. Gravely was born April 7, 1930, in Lane to parents Furman and Evelyn (Young) Arthur. She married George E. Gravely Jan. 30, 1949, in Beckley, W.Va; he survives. Also surviving are children Linda Reid (Pat), Robert Gravely and David Gravely, all of Urbana; eight siblings; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Dessel was preceded in death by her parents, one grandchild and three siblings. Mrs. Gravely worked for more than 20 years at the Champaign County Nursing Home as a nurse. She was a member of the Curtis Road Church of God in Champaign. on June 23, 2013.2
