She was a member of Church Alive International and loved the Lord very much. She loved to make friends wherever she went, especially on her frequent visits to the Roanoker Restaurant. She adored her family and was always present at her grandchildren’s events. She was greatly loved and will be greatly missed. Mrs. Long was a member of the Red Sulphur Springs Methodist Church. Her husband, O. J. Long, died in 1956. Survivors include five sons, Howard of Baltimore, Md., Herman and Ted, both of Greenville, and Ernest and Homer Long, both of Red Sulphur Springs; two daughters, Mrs. Sarah Hutchinson of Red Sulphur Springs and Mrs. Madeline Meador of Hyattsville, Md; two sisters, Mrs. Laura Rogers of Hinton and Mrs. Newman Long of Craigsville; 24 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday in the Red Sulphur Springs Church with the Rev. Dewitt Furrow and the Rev. Harry Young in charge. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be taken from the Broyles Funeral Home Chapel in Peterstown to the home of a son, Homer, at 4 p.m. today and to the church one hour prior to the funeral. Grandsons will granddaughters will carry flowers. on December 26, 1962.4
