     Anthony Cecil Sowers was buried at First Baptist Church Cemetery, Elliston, Montgomery Co., Virginia.3 He was born on December 6, 1981 at Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia.4 He married Amanda Grace Flowers on May 25, 2001 at Roanoke Co., Virginia.5 Anthony Cecil Sowers died on August 3, 2010 at Roanoke Co., Virginia, at age 28.2,3 He Anthony C. Sowers, 28, of Salem, Va., went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 3, 2010. He was a 2000 graduate of Glenvar High School. Anthony served with the United States Army in Iraq and at the time of his death he was serving with the National Guard. He was an employee of Superior Exterminating. Surviving are his wife, Amanda Sowers; children, Jakob, Kaiden, Madison, Karson, Izak, and Morghann Sowers, all of the home; mother and stepfather, Terry and Bill Ford, of Salem; father and stepmother, Cecil (Jr.) and Sarah Sowers, of Shawsville; brother, Joseph Sowers and wife, Aynsley, of Roanoke; sister, Alicia Ford, of Roanoke; grandparents, Billy and Maudie Epperly, of Salem; Cecil H. and Barbara Sowers, of Elliston; great-grandmother, Lillian (Pete) King, of Salem; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Craig and Debbie Flowers, of Albany, Ga; stepbrother, Bradley Foley, of Elliston; stepsister, Rebecca Bell, of Christiansburg; brothers-in-law, Jesse Flowers, U.S. Army, Ft. Riley, Kan., Robert Flowers and wife, Katrina, of Lexington, Va., and Christopher Flowers, of Montgomery, Ala; sisters-in-law, Christina Hypes and husband, Stevie, and Lydia Flowers, all of Albany, Ga; God mother, Gina Johnson, of Salem; and a number of nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Military Family Support Center, P.O. Box 1122. Salem, Va. 24153. Funeral Services will be conducted 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 7, 2010, at Simpson Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Road. Interment will follow in First Baptist Church Cemetery, Elliston. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the funeral service at Simpson Funeral Home, 540-366-0707. on August 6, 2010.3
