He was born October 7, 1927 in Keeling Va., son of the late Marshall A. and Mildred T. Farley. He graduated from Dan River High School in 1943 and served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1945 to 1948. While in the Marine Corps he was attached to Marine Transport Squadron VMR-252, MCAS Cherry Point, N.C. He graduated from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in 1952 with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. During his senior year at VPI and SU he served as president of the civilian student body senate and vice-president of the civilian student body. He was a member of Phi Kappa Phi, Tau Beta Pi and other honor societies. After graduating from VPI and SU he worked for E. I. DuPont De Nemours and Co. in Martinsville, Va. and Wilmington, Del. In the mid 1960's he began selling and servicing two-way radios and other communication equipment. This venture led to his eventual position as president of Virginia Communications and Electronics, Inc., from which he retired in April, 2002. He was a member of B.P.O.E. #1752, where he was a past Exalted Ruler and past District Deputy. He was also a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #2003, The Edward W. Richardson Detachment of the Marine Corps League and V.F.W. He is survived by one daughter, Bailey F. Showalter, of Martinsville; one son, William Marshall Farley, Jr., of Bassett; and their mother, Jane C. Farley, of Martinsville. He is also survived by two grandchildren and two step-grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers, fellow members of B.P.O.E #1752. Memorial contributions may be made to the Elks National Home, 931 Ashland Ave., Bedford, Va. 24523. Funeral service Tuesday, July 1, 2003, 11 a.m., Norris Funeral Services Chapel. Revs. Ron Mateer and Dwight Grissom to officiate. A graveside service will be held at 1:30 on Tuesday at Highland Burial Park in Danville. Visitation will be Monday, June 30, 2003 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Norris Funeral Services and other times at the home of the daughter, Bailey F. Showalter, 335 Tanglewood Drive, Martinsville. Norris Funeral Services, Inc. & Crematory is serving the Farley family. on June 29, 2003.9

Seay, Jr., 80, died on Sunday evening, March 9, 2008, at Blumenthal Rehab and Nursing Center after a courageously fought year long battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 13, at Parkway Baptist Church. George was born February 27, 1928, the youngest son of George Alfred and Bessie Terry Seay in Pittsylvania County, Virginia. He and his family moved to Greensboro in 1942. He graduated from Greensboro Senior High School in 1948 and attended Elon University before entering service in 1950. Upon his return from active duty, he joined the Greensboro Police Department, where he attained the rank of Lieutenant. In 1968, he was named director of community relations for the City of Greensboro. In 1971, he became assistant county manager for Guilford County until his retirement in 1994. George was a charter member of Parkway Baptist Church and had served his Lord as Sunday school teacher, department superintendent, committee chairman, choir member, and organizer and co-coach of young boy's softball team. George was a graduate of Southern Police Institute, University of Louisville, where he was named class orator. He was a member of Revolution Lodge #552, NC Retired Peace Officers Association, Elks Club life member, and numerous professional organizations. George lived life to the fullest. He had a great smile and hearty laugh. He was devoted to his family, friends, golfing buddies, and animals Dodger and Rambo. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Melvin, Raymond, Garland, and Ralph Seay. George is survived by his wife of 55 years, Barbara; two children, Mary Anne and Alan; and daughter-in-law, Christine and a number of special nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 6:30 until 8:30 on Wednesday, March 12, at Forbis & Dick, North Elm Chapel. The family wishes to express their appreciation for the kind, considerate care of those who ministered to him over the past two months at Blumenthal. Special love and appreciation goes to Jimmy D. who visited with him every day during this period giving him comfort and security. To the many, many friends who visited him in the past two months, coming with food, goodies, and sharing wonderful experiences of the past, we will always be grateful.      Hazel Mozelle Neal was buried at Fairmount Mausoleum, Denver, Colorado.4 She was born on September 3, 1919 at South Boston, Halifax Co., Virginia.2,5,4 As of February 20, 1937,her married name was Seay.3 She married Melvin Max Seay, son of George Alfred Seay and Bessie Wade Terry, on February 20, 1937 at Chatham, Pittsylvania Co., Virginia.3 Hazel Mozelle Neal and Melvin Max Seay were divorced on November 12, 1941 at Danville, Virginia.1 Hazel Mozelle Neal died on October 14, 2008 at Fort Myers, Lee Co., Florida, at age 89.5,4 She Hazel M. Neal, 89, of Fort Myers, Florida passed away October 14, 2008. A Florida resident since 2001, she was born September 3, 1919 in South Boston, Virginia. Before her retirement, Ms. Neal was a Credit Manager for Colonial Chevrolet in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Upon retirement, Ms. Neal taught porcelain doll making for the Chesapeake Virginia Recreation Department. In addition to her porcelain artistry, Ms. Neal was an accomplished painter in oils and excelled in many crafts. She was also an avid reader and doll collector. Preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and four sisters, she is survived by two daughters Nancy Seay Gidley and Betty Seay Wright, son-in-law Barry F. Gidley, grandchildren Kelly McIntyre Zink, Tom Zink, Kimberly McIntyre, Theresa McIntyre, Sharon Wright McAlister, Mike McAlister, Douglas and Greta Wright, DeAnna Wright Bennett, Chris Bennett, Sean and Lisa Wright. She also leaves eighteen great-grandchildren, one great-great grandson, a sister, Margaret Neal Lewis, two sisters-in-law, Treva Parks Neal and Meredith Hawkins Neal, one brother-in-law Kermit Hunter and numerous nieces and nephews. Following a private family service, interment will be at Fairmount Mausoleum, Denver Colorado. Arrangements made by National Cremation Society and Funeral Home. on October 31, 2008.4
