Rev. Clio Edward Thomas was buried at Crown Hill Cemetery, 8712 12th Avenue NW, Seattle, King Co., Washington.3 He Clio Edward Thomas, June 9, 1930 - November 12, 2020. Clio Edward Thomas was the youngest of five sons born to Edward and Dahlia Thomas on their 50-acre farm in the rugged hills of West Virginia. While attending Aurora College in Aurora, Illinois, he met Kathleen McClure, the love of his life. They were married in 1952 and raised 6 children together. In their early years together, they served congregations in Illinois and Wisconsin. In 1962, they moved to Seattle to pastor the Seattle Advent Christian Church on Capitol Hill and later, the West Valley Advent Christian Church in Kent. In addition to pastoring, Clio was an adjunct professor and board member of the Fuller Seminary extension program in Seattle for many years. In his semi-retirement, he traveled broadly throughout Asia as the Asia Pacific Area Director for the Advent Christian Denomination. He supported many students and churches in this role and made friends all over the world. Clio was a gifted leader and he authentically exemplified the qualities of humility, patience, love, compassion, and acceptance to those he served. His life was an ongoing expression of God's healing love. His presence on this earth touched the lives of countless people. To quote a dear friend, "If our heavenly mansion is filled with those whose lives we have touched, Clio's mansion will be standing room only!" Family was everything to Clio. He was a wonderful husband, and a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Holiday celebrations, birthday dinners, family vacations and spending time working and playing together at the cabin on Vashon Island created the foundation for many happy and cherished memories. He was always available for advice, for help and for fun. He had many interests and hobbies including horticulture, sports, photography, reading, writing, making fruit leather and enjoying the beautiful outdoor venues the Pacific Northwest had to offer. He created and tended many beautiful gardens during his lifetime, including those he nurtured through Trend Services, the landscaping business he established in his later years. Clio died peacefully and comfortably at UW Northwest Hospital after a very brief illness, exactly 1 year after the death of his beloved youngest daughter, Tabitha Gadzuk He is deeply missed by Kathleen, his wife of 68 years, their children Jan Muth (John), Stan Thomas (Diane), Mary Quarterman (Jay), Peter Thomas (Michelle), Andy Thomas, and son-in-law Brian Gadzuk. He also leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.2 He was born on June 9, 1930 at Clay Co., West Virginia.2 He married Kathleen McClure in 1952.3,2 Rev. Clio Edward Thomas died on November 12, 2020 at Seattle, King Co., Washington, at age 90.2
