     Brenda Gaye Starling Brenda Gay Elmore, 66, of Princeton, died peacefully on Thursday evening, February 23, 2017 at her home. Brenda was a graduate of Oakvale High School, Class of 1968 where she was the valedictorian of her class. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister and homemaker. While her health permitted, she enjoyed gardening; cooking and she especially loved her animals. Born May 28, 1950 at Princeton, she was the daughter of Gladys Louise Carter-Starling of Princeton and the late Milburn Houston Starling. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death two sisters, Linda Carol Sterling Fry and Joyce "Jodi" Darlene Starling Howell. Those left to cherish her memory in addition to her mother, her devoted husband of 48 years, Donald L. Elmore; daughter Jeri Lynn Elmore-Mullins & husband Michael Mullins; three siblings; David Starling, William “Bill” & wife Vicki Starling, Barbara Starling-McGinnis & husband John McGinnis all of Princeton; and a special aunt, Virginia White. The family has honored Brenda Gay’s request, her body has been cremated.² She was born on May 28, 1950 at Princeton, Mercer Co., West Virginia.^1,2 As of November 16, 1968,her married name was Elmore.¹ She married Donald Lee Elmore, son of Robert Jackson Elmore and Arminta Louise Belcher, on November 16, 1968 at Pearisburg, Giles Co., Virginia.^1,2 Brenda Gaye Starling died on February 23, 2017 at Princeton, Mercer Co., West Virginia, at age 66.²

     Barger Birchfield F. "Birch" Palmer was buried at Resthaven Memorial Park, 1917 West Main Street, Princeton, Mercer Co., West Virginia.² He was born on September 7, 1884 at Mercer Co., West Virginia.^2,3,4,5 He married Vergie Mary "Virgie" Elmore, daughter of Fleming Wade Elmore and Phoebe F. Taylor, on January 3, 1906 at Mercer Co., West Virginia.^6,5,7 Barger Birchfield F. "Birch" Palmer died on March 12, 1952 at Hinton, Summers Co., West Virginia, at age 67.^2,5 He B. F. Palmer, 67, C.&O. Railway employee, of Bellepoint, died Wednesday morning in Hinton Hospital. He had been in ill health for the last 10 months and had not been able to work for the last seven months. He suffered a heart attack about 10 days ago and was removed to the hospital where his condition had been considered critical since that time. Mr. Palmer was born in Mercer county, Sept. 7, 1884 and had lived in Princeton most of his life, but for the last 10 years had resided at Bellepoint. He was employed by the railway company as an inspector. He was a member of the Athens Masonic Lodge and Eastern Star. He was a member of the Methodist church at Princeton. Besides his widow, the former Vergie Elmore of Princeton, he is survived by five sons and three daughters who are as follows: Herbert, Guy and Lee of Princeton, Homer who is serving in the army in Korea and Ralph with the merchant marines; Mrs. C. D. Via, Norfolk, Va; Mrs. G. E. Marshall, Bluefield; Mrs. G. L. Tyree, Hinton, and 13 grandchildren. Other survivors include two brothers, Jack Palmer, of Princeton; Leonard T. Palmer of Fairmont, and four sisters, Mrs. G. A. Elmore of Princeton, Mrs. G. E. Biggs of Oakvale, Mrs. W. D. Hurley of McComas and Mrs. C. L. Crews of Bluefield. on March 13, 1952.⁵

     Guy Allen Palmer was buried at Cherry Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery, 33 Elk Mills Road, Cherry Hill, Cecil Co., Maryland.^3,4 He and Agnes K. Collins were divorced.² Guy Allen Palmer was born on March 8, 1910 at Princeton, Mercer Co., West Virginia.^4,5 He married Agnes K. Collins circa 1930.¹¹ Guy Allen Palmer married Agnes K.
