She was a member of the First Christian Church of Princeton and was a retired employee of the Majestic Steam laundry of Princeton. She was preceded in death by her husband. Survivors include two sons, Tommy Woodrow and Walter “Bud” Elmore, both of Princeton; three daughters, Mrs. John D. (Mickey) Johnston and Mrs. Helen Worell, both of Princeton, and Mrs. William G. (Lois) Damron of Virginia Beach, Va; two sisters, Mrs. H. A. (Flora) Brewster and Mrs. Guy (Eola) Miller, both of Princeton; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Entombment will be in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Pallbearers: Russell Hutchins, Norman Bragg, Vessie Shrewsbury, Everett Cahill, Mason Murphy, Pete DeLung, Bob Whittaker, Bruce Blankenship. on December 2, 1982.2

Tommy Elmore, 66, of Pisgah Road, Princeton, was dead on arrival at Princeton Community Hospital after the 10 a.m. mishap. He was transported by an OH-9 ambulance. State Police Trooper Sam Pennington said the roll of hay “fell some distance” as Elmore was operating the tractor to feed cattle. Assisting Pennington in the investigation was Corporal P. E. Wriston. Born in Princeton, Elmore was a retired Norfolk & Western Railway engineer. He was a member of Johnston Chapel Baptist Church, Princeton. Survivors: wife, Mrs. Helen Cahill Elmore; son, Robert Loy Elmore of Roanoke, Va; daughter, Mrs. Richard R. (Sarah Lane) Barnett of Albemarle, N.C; sisters, Mrs. John D. Survivors: Her son, John Keith Johnston of Princeton; her sister, Helen Worrell of Princeton; a host of nephews and nieces. Burial will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens on the Courthouse Road in
Princeton. Pallbearers will be Greg Elmore, Tommy and Kevin Peyton, Steve Johnston,
James Cleary, Greg Foster, Anthony and Craig Worrell. on October 14, 2004.6

She married Walter Henry Elmore, son of Walter Mason Elmore and Mary Susan "Sue" Swim.1,6,2 Ruth Inez Butterworth was born on October 20, 1922 at Lerona, Mercer Co., West Virginia.2,5,3 She died on October 11, 1996 at Atlanta, Fulton Co., Georgia, at age 73.2,7,5 She Mrs. Ruth Butterworth Elmore of 130 Red Bud Court, Senoia, formerly of Frederick Court, Princeton, died Friday, October ll, 1996, at the Newton House in Atlanta, Ga. Born October 20, 1922 at Lerona, she was the daughter of the late John and Vergie Rogers Butterworth. She was a homemaker. She was the widow of Walter “Bud” Elmore, who passed away on May 7, 1989. Survivors: she was the loving mother of three sons, Mr. Gene Elmore and his wife Arlena of Pfafftown, N.C., Mr. Roger Elmore and his wife Sharon of Virginia Beach, Va. and Mr. Michael Elmore of Charleston; one daughter, Mrs. Barbara Shelton and her husband Chuck of Senoia, with whom she made her home; she will be sadly missed by; one sister, Mrs. Imogene Butterworth Keaton of Mobile, Ala; one brother, Mr. Trevor Butterworth of Lerona; eight grandchildren; and four great grandchildren; also two special sister-in-laws, and two special brother-in-laws. Entombment will follow at the Apostles Garden Mausoleum of the Roselawn Memorial Gardens on the Courthouse Road in Princeton. on October 13, 1996.2

     Barbara Ann Elmore Barbara Ann Elmore Shelton, 76, of Georgia, died suddenly Tuesday, November 30, 2021, while preparing to move to Princeton. Born February 5, 1945, in Princeton, she was the daughter of the late Walter Elmore and Ruth Butterworth Elmore. Barbara was educated in Princeton and was a devoted homemaker. Survivors include her loving and devoted husband of 59 years, Arnold Keith Shelton; Three loving children, Eric Shelton, Ginger VanWyck and Matthew Kirk Shelton; Five loving grandchildren; Three loving siblings, Eugene Elmore, Roger Elmore and Mike Elmore. The family has honored her request, she has been cremated and inurnment will be held in Georgia at a later date.1 She was born on February 5, 1945 at Princeton, Mercer Co., West Virginia.1,2 As of December 11, 1963,her married name was Shelton.2 She married Arnold Keith Shelton on December 11, 1963 at Pearisburg, Giles Co., Virginia.1,2,3 Barbara Ann Elmore died on November 30, 2021 at Georgia at age 76.1
