     Carol Marlene Jeffries Carol Marlene Dowell, age 77 of Brazil, IN died Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, IN. She was born January 26, 1934 in Clay County, IN as the daughter of Philip A. and Alma Martin Jeffries. She graduated from Van Buren High School with the Class of 1952. She married Donald Eugene Dowell November 24, 1955. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She greatly enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. Carol was preceded in death by her parents; son, James (Jim) Dowell; and brothers, Tony and Dick Jeffries. She is survived by her husband, Donald; daughter, Donna Eckler (George) of Greenfield, IN; grandchildren, Rachel Conner (Anson) of Indianapolis, Benjamin Eckler (Annie) of Springfield, IL, and Gabriel Eckler of Greenfield, IN; great grandchildren, Hannah Conner, Cy Conner, and Garrett Conner, all of Indianapolis; daughter-in-law, Mary Dowell Clodfelter of Brazil; sister, Judy Wright of Brazil; several nieces and nephews; and other extended family. Moore Funeral Home was chosen to provide private graveside services at Calcutta Cemetery on Saturday, January 21, 2012. Pastor Selby will be the officiant.
