Myrtle Louise Ferguson was buried at Argabright Cemetery, Roanoke Co., Virginia.2,3 She was born on October 11, 1927 at Roanoke, Virginia.2,4,3 As of September 21, 1946,her married name was Reed.1 She married Lewis Hurt Reed, son of Neva Arell Reed and Virginia Eva Hurt, on September 21, 1946 at Roanoke, Virginia.1 Myrtle Louise Ferguson and Lewis Hurt Reed were divorced on December 13, 1961 at Roanoke, Virginia.5 Myrtle Louise Ferguson died on March 9, 2009 at Roanoke Co., Virginia, at age 81.4,2,3 She Myrtle Louise Ferguson Reed, our beloved Mother, Grandmother, GreatGrandmother, and friend passed away on Monday morning, March 9, 2009, at her home in Southwest Roanoke County, Va. Louise was born on October 11, 1927, in Roanoke. She was predeceased by her parents, Robert Lee and Annie Trent Ferguson; her brother, Paul Auburn Ferguson; two sisters, Lou Thomas and Mary Ann Ferguson. Louise has one remaining sister, Irene Secrist. She is survived by one son, John M. Reed; four daughters and son-in-laws, Cheryl and David Argabright, Kandy and Tim Alderman, Sandra and Alan Smith, Donna and Calvin Holdren; six grandchildren, Angela Ciafardini-Pratt and husband Michael, Dr. Alan Smith, Jr., Dr. Karen Smith, Paul Dull and wife Candice, Trenton Alderman, and Hayley Alderman; and one greatgranddaughter, Madison Bryce Dull. She is also survived by her nephew, Danny Secrist and wife, Diana, and their children Andrea and Andrew. Louise graduated from Jefferson High School in Roanoke and worked for SuperX Drugstores for 24 years and she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. The family would like to express their gratitude to the many devoted and caring representatives of Gentle Shepherd Hospice, including Rosa Baker and Kelly Buccola, and Mrs. G. Jones of ResCare Home Health Agency. Also, words cannot begin to express the family's heartfelt appreciation to her dearest friends, Joyce Goodwin, Sarena Carter, and Patricia Long, for their love, care and support over the years. Interment will follow in the Argabright Cemetery. on March 10, 2009.2

Mr. Whitenack was a member of Calvary Baptist Church as well as being a member of Virginia Heights Masonic Lodge and then Lakeland Lodge after the two merged. Jack will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and members of both his lodge and Kazim Shrine Temple where he was a member of the Fire Brigade. Jack was preceded in death by a son, David Whitenack, and his mother, Martha Attaway Whitenack Williams. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Ann R. Whitenack; a son, Ricky Alan Whitenack; two grandchildren, Heather Whitenack Farrelly and husband, Mike, and Bryan Whitenack. Jack is also survived by a stepsister, Martha Gladwell, Concord, N.C; a stepbrother, Robert Williams and his wife, Anne, of Fincastle; an aunt, Pauline Lloyd; and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service with Masonic rights will be conducted in Evergreen Burial Park at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 3, 2003, with Dr. Harry Y. Gamble officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at Oakey's South Chapel. on December 2, 2003.2

Siegfried Mathias Holzer was born on August 24, 1936 at Radstadt, Austria.2,3 He married Brenda Gail Keffer, daughter of Alton Ashby Keffer and Janie Sue Hypes, on June 1, 1979 at Christiansburg, Montgomery Co., Virginia.1,2 Siegfried Mathias Holzer died on March 22, 2023 at Virginia at age 86.3 He Siegfried Mathias Holzer, August 24, 1936 - March 22, 2023. Siegfried Mathias Holzer passed away recently. He was born in Radstadt, Austria and attended high school in Salzburg. He immigrated to the United States in 1956 and stayed with family in Kansas while working at the Kansas City Steel Company and other structural engineering firms. He earned Bachelors and Masters degrees from Kansas University, and a PhD from the University of Illinois. He became a naturalized citizen in 1961. He was a professor of engineering at Virginia Tech from 1972 to 2002 and was passionate about teaching and fostering an engaging learning environment. His enthusiasm was contagious; he connected with students and received numerous accolades over the years. He was elected to VT's Academy of Teaching Excellence in 1974. In 1986 he became the second person to win the National Chi Epsilon Civil Engineering Honorary Society Award for excellence in teaching. He received the Outstanding Faculty Award from the State Council of Higher Education in 1989, and in 1995 he was designated an Alumni Distinguished Professor. He always loved nature and enjoyed time outdoors, whether it be hiking, skiing, playing tennis, gardening, or working on his tree farm. Family vacations to the beach and Blue Ridge Parkway were a regular occurrence. In retirement he took daily trips to the Christiansburg Recreation Center for exercising and socializing. He was a voracious reader, and he joined a book club and volunteered to teach English to foreign students. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, chatting and telling stories over wine, or corresponding with distant friends and relatives over phone and email. He could often be found working around the yard or tinkering on a project around the house. He is survived by his wife, Gail; sons, Michael (Eddie) and Matthew (Kelly); stepson, Lance; granddaughter, Audrey; sister-in-law, Hope; siblings, Josef, Christine, and Elfrieda; half-brothers, Peter, Walter, and Dragutin; and numerous nieces and nephews. His father Josef passed away in 1989 and his mother Genoveva passed away in 2005. He was preceded in death by brother, Herbert and half-sister, Susie. on April 2, 2023.3
