Surviving in addition to his brother are his wife, Mrs. Erma Layton Andrews of Cloverdale; two daughters, Linda and Debra Andrews of the home; a son, Johnny Ray Andrews of the home; three sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Watson of High Point, N.C., Mrs. Elanor Bennett of Mt. Hope, W.Va. and Mrs. Edna Kuczinski of Martinsville; and one other brother, Haden Andrews of Martinsville. on December 18, 1969.5 He died on December 18, 1969 at Martinsville, Virginia, at age 42.1,2,3,5

Sammy met the love of his life, Virginia Tucker, and they joined hands in marriage on December 7, 1968, in Cloverdale. He served our country in the United States Army from February 4, 1955, to December 24, 1959. After the Army, Sammy went to Woodrow Wilson Rehabilitation Center for nurse training and completed his course on July 10, 1964. Then he went to work for the Pepsi Company for 25 years and took an early retirement due to back problems. Sammy lived a hard suffering life and God took him home to be with him where he will not suffer or be in pain anymore. Sammy you will be missed dearly by your family. We Love You Dad. Love Mom, Sammy, Christina and David. Sammy enjoyed life and loved drag racing, wrestling and going to the Botetourt Fair. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam B. and Nelda Williams Myers; Virginias parents, Elmer and Bertha Tucker; and his brother-in-law, Louis Lamb. Sammy is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Virginia Tucker Myers; his children, Sammy Myers and his wife, Brenda, Christina Myers, and David Fields and his wife, Jill; his grandchildren, Anthony Hobson, Dustin Switzer, Austin Switzer and Anthony Field; his brother, Wayne Myers and his wife, Betty; his sister, Dot Lamb; and also many nieces, nephews and close friends. Friends are welcome to call on Wednesday, July 8, 2009, from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. at Rader Funeral Home in Daleville. A funeral service celebrating Sammys life will be held 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 9, 2009, at Rader Funeral Home Chapel where the Rev. Carol Johnston will officiate. Interment will follow at Old Dominion Memorial Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes all memorial contributions be made to the Troutville Rescue Squad, 20 Sunset Ave., Troutville, Va. 24175, in Sammys memory. on July 8, 2009.2
