Conner, 94, of Lafayette, passed away on January 4, 2015 at 1:19 a.m. at IU Health Arnett. Margaret was born on January 22, 1920 in Crawfordsville to the late Fred A. and Flora Belle (Timmons) Weliever. She was a graduate of New Ross High School. Margaret was married to Francis D. Conner in Crawfordsville, and he preceded her in death on August 22, 1977. She was self-employed as an Avon Lady for 60 plus years. She was a member of the Avon Presidents Club for 50 years. Margaret was a member of the Church of Christ on Creasy Lane. She loved flowers, Avon, and most of all her grandchildren. Surviving are three children, James (wife: Bobbie) Conner of Lafayette, Larry (wife: Melody) Conner of Lafayette, and Rosalie (husband: Robert) Thomasmeyer of Eustis, FL. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by three brothers, Roy, Raymond, and Floyd Weliever. Services will be held on Wednesday, January 7th at 2 p.m. at Simplicity Funeral Care with visitation 1 hour prior to service. Alan Yeater officiating. (Paula) Conner; grandchildren, Susanne (Keith) Baughman, Andrew (Amy) Conner, Joyanne (Larry) McKinney and Marianne (Scott) Rouse; eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. on September 29, 2014.¹

     Gladys Malene Compton was buried at Highland Memory Gardens, Rt. 11 between Dublin and Radford, Pulaski Co., Virginia.¹ Her married name was Thompson.² She married Roy Claibourne Thompson, son of William Andrew "Will" Thompson and Luvenia "Venie" Conner.¹ Gladys Malene Compton was born on May 7, 1918 at Russell Co., Virginia.^1,3 She died on October 2, 2011 at Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia, at age 93.^1,3 She Gladys Malene Compton Thompson, age 93, of Pulaski, went to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, Oct. 2, 2011, from Lewis Gale Hospital-Pulaski. She was born May 7, 1918 in Russell County to the late Celia Steele Compton and John Allen Compton. She was a member of the Bob White Boulevard. Church of God (The Refreshing Center) for more than 67 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Claibourne Thompson; a daughter, Zona Gail Lucado; brothers, Elden, Aulden, Lake, Gaines, Gilmer, Gudger, Jess, Beech, Howard, Carl and Clyde; sisters, Ethel, Pearl and Ercil; and a grandchild named Loretta. She is survived by a daughter, Kaye Thompson Jones and her husband, Rex, of Dublin; sons, Garry Wayne Thompson and his wife, Norma, of Marion, Ronald C. Thompson and his wife, Connie, of Snowville, and a grandson she raised as a son, Michael Lee Thompson and his wife, Patricia, of Pulaski. She is also survived by grandchildren, Renee East, Karen Bond, Derek Thompson, Michael Lee Thompson Jr., J.W. Thompson, Kasey Quesenberry, Buddy Luckado, and Mike Luckado; great-grandchildren, Dustin East, Celia East, Curtis Johnson and April Alley; eight great-great grandchildren; special nieces and nephews, Stafford Compton, Bobby Joe Compton, Mildred King, Bill Compton, and Nadyne White. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 5, at 2 p.m. at Seagle Funeral Home with the Rev. John C. Briggs and the Rev. Carl White ministering. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Visiting will be Tuesday evening, 6-8, at the funeral home. The family will be gathering at Mrs. Thompson's apartment, 988 Memorial Drive, Apt. 28, in Pulaski.
