Mrs. Porter was born May 17, 1933 to the late Charles Harrison Crawford and Emma Adams Crawford. She retired from the Bi-Lo Corporation. Surviving are two sons, Steven Porter and wife Debbie, Barry Porter and wife Barbara; a daughter Sandi Theus Brashier and husband Mark; two brothers, Jake Crawford and wife Mildred and Charles Denny Crawford and wife Yvonne; a sister, Frances Crawford Brouse; seven grandchildren, Joshua Porter and wife Jenelle, Rachel Theus Cass and husband Eric, Stefanie Porter, Nathan Brashier, Rebecca Theus McDonald and husband Matt, Andrew Porter, Kyle Brashier and Zak Theus; and eight great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by four brothers and a sister. Funeral services will be held 1 pm Saturday in the mausoleum chapel at Graceland East. Visitation immediately following the service in the chapel. The family will receive friends at the home, 956 Fargo Street in Mauldin, 4 - 6 pm. on October 18, 2013.²

She was a member of Mount Juliet United Methodist Church, Belle, and a graduate of Smoot High School and Morris Harvey College. She was a native of Dawson, Greenbrier County. Surviving: daughter, Mary Ellen Thompson of Belle; sons, Miles J. "Fuzzy" Crowder of DuPont City, Jack D. Crowder of Pinch; sister, Lillie Zickafoose of Marbury, Md; brother, Clayton Anderson of Cincinnati; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. Service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Fidler & Frame Funeral Home, Belle, with the Rev. Kerry Lilly officiating. Burial will be in Maude Chapel Cemetery, Grassy Meadow, Greenbrier County. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. on February 27, 2000.²
