A native of Sylvatus, VA, Clay was a son of the late Guy and Imogene Farmer Lindsey. He was a veteran of the Army-Air Force serving during WW II and retired from DuPont Chambers Works in Deepwater, NJ in 1981 after 40 years of service. Clay and his wife were long-time residents of Woodstown, NJ and loved square dancing, traveling and playing bridge. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Margaret Ruth Kesler Lindsey; one daughter, Donna Lindsey of Clyde, NC; one son, Brian Lindsey of Penns Grove, NJ; one sister, Virginia Hallman of Duck, WV; five grandchildren, Barton, Michele, Tara, Aaron and Jeremiah; seven great-grandchildren as well as one great-great-granddaughter. A funeral service was held on Friday, September 21, 2012, at the Western Carolina State Veteran's Cemetery Chapel in Black Mountain. Military Rites were performed by the Buncombe County Veteran's Council and the North Carolina National Guard. on September 30, 2012.3
