Surratt.1 Virginia Sayers married Joseph Fredrick Goad.1 Virginia Sayers was born on July 9, 1920 at Virginia.3 She died on December 10, 2006 at Virginia at age 86.2,1,3 She Virginia Gray Goad, 86, of 2418 Beacon Lane, Richmond, Va., went to be with the Lord on December 10, 2006. She was the widow of Archie Webb Gray and Joseph Fredrick Goad. She was the daughter of the late David Franklin Sayers and Roxie Dalton Sayers. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Janet Lorraine Gray; 12 brothers and three sisters. She is survived by her children, Barbara Gray Durrette and husband, Tarleton, Lillian Gray Gold, Donald Gray and wife, Jane, Patricia Gray Carr and husband, J. C., David Gray and wife, Joan, William "Billy" Gray and wife, Mary, Wayne Gray and wife, Lynn, Christopher Goad and wife, Cindy; and many nieces and nephews. She had 23 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was retired from the Haven Home for the Aged as co-owner and administrator. A memorial service will be held at Meadowood Church of God, 325 Azalea Avenue, Richmond, Va., at 11 a.m. on December 28, 2006. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Community Care, 10128 W. Broad Street, Suite J, Glen Allen, Va. 23060. on December 13, 2006.1

     Tarleton Bleece Durrette was buried at Hanover Memorial Park, 4447 Mechanicsville Turnpike, Mechanicsville, Hanover Co., Virginia.2 He was born on April 12, 1939 at Richmond, Virginia.2 He married Barbara Jane Gray, daughter of Archie Webb Gray and Virginia Sayers, circa 1958.1,2 Tarleton Bleece Durrette Tarleton Bleece Durrette, 69, went to be with the Lord on June 6, 2008. Mr. Durrette was born on April 12, 1939 in Richmond, Va. He was a son of the late Robert Theodore and Margaret Alice (Gordon) Durrette. He is remembered for his precious smile, his devotion to help family members and others, and his love for gardening and woodworking. Any trade and his mechanical ability came naturally to him. Mr. Durrette was preceded in death by two brothers, Alfred Keith Durrette and Lawrence Andrew Durrette. He leaves to cherish in his memory, his devoted wife of 50 years, Barbara (Gray) Durrette; and three sons, Tarleton Durrette Jr., King William, Va., Anthony and his wife, Peggy Durrette, Gregory and his wife, Sheri Durrette, both of Richmond, Va; his grandchildren, Michael Durrette, Andrew Durrette, Tarleton Durrette III, Brandon Durrette and Tasha Blakley; and one great-grandchild, Camden Blakley. Others include his sisters and brothers, Elouise and her husband, Newton Ancarrow, Richmond, Va., Zelma Ruth Haney, Spotsylvania, Va., Robert Jr. and his wife, Mary Durrette, Salisbury, N.C., Pauline and her husband, George Mistro, Frankfort, Ill., Ralph Durrette, Richmond, Va; and his sister-in-law, Barbara T. Durrette, Salisbury, N.C. His loved ones include a host of wonderful nieces and nephews. Tarleton is remembered as a truly genuine brother-in-law and uncle by the Gray and Goad family members. The funeral service will be conducted at 12 noon Monday, June 9, 2008 in the Bennett Funeral Home, Mechanicsville Chapel, 8014 Lee-Davis Road. Pastor Mac McDowell and Johnny Albert will officiate. Interment will follow in Hanover Memorial Park Cemetery, Route 360, Hanover, Va. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Sunday, June 8, 2008 from 3 to 6 p.m. He was an active member of New Haven Baptist Church, and memorials can be sent to New Haven Baptist Church, P.O. Box 2303, Mechanicsville, Va. 23116. on June 8, 2008.2 He died on June 8, 2008 at Virginia at age 69.3,2

     Patricia Gray Patricia Gray Carr, 67, of Mechanicsville, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 2, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Chastain Carr Jr; her parents, Archie Webb Gray and Virginia Gray Goad; and her sister, Janet Lorraine Gray. She is survived by her son, Jeffrey Todd Carr; and daughter, Kimberly Carr Fitzgerald and husband, Jeff; four beautiful granddaughters, Emily and Maegan Carr, Audrey and Elizabeth Fitzgerald; sisters, Barbara Durrette and Lillian Gold; brothers, Donald Gray (Jane), David Gray (Joan), William Gray (Mary), Wayne Gray (Lynn) and Chris Goad; two brothers-in-law, Gene Carr and James T. Carr (Mabel); many nieces and nephews; and dear friend, Doris Leake. She retired from Virginia Commonwealth University, School of Allied Health Professions in 2005, where she worked as an assistant to the dean. She received the Dorris Douglas Budd Award in 1996, which is an annual award given to staff members who demonstrate exemplary performance. Pat will always be remembered for her sincere devotion and love for her family, her generosity, her sense of humor and her innate ability to make you smile. The family will receive friends at Bennett Funeral Home, Mechanicsville, on Sunday, October 6, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Mechanicsville Presbyterian Church on Monday, October 7, 2013 at 11 a.m., with Rev. Nancy Clark officiating. Interment will follow in the Waverly Cemetery.2 She was buried at Waverly Cemetery, 248-252 Spring Branch Road, Waverly, Sussex Co., Virginia.2,3 Her married name was Carr.1 She married Joseph Chastain Carr Jr.2 Patricia Gray was born on March 22, 1946.3 She died on October 2, 2013 at Virginia at age 67.2,3
