Box 33) went to be with the Lord late Friday evening, April 9, 2004 at the Westwood Health Care Center after a long illness. Born April 8, 1955 in Bluefield, she was the daughter of the late George Sparks Sr. and Elsie Cook Sparks. She was a 1973 honor graduate of Bramwell High School. She attended Bluefield State College and Concord College, she was a former employee of the Colonial Theater, Bluefield, she was a former employee of Ammar's of Bluefield, Va., where she worked as an accountant. She was a member of the Lorton Lick Baptist Church. She was a homemaker, and a resident of Elkhorn for the past 16 years. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Jennifer Schierholt; and one nephew. Survivors include her husband of 11 years, David Randall "Randy" Cannady of the home; one stepdaughter, Selena Bennett and husband, Steve of Ballard; two stepsons, David Bruce Cannady and wife, April of Peterstown and Joseph Davis Cannady of Ballard; twin sister, Linda Sparks of Bluewell; one brother, George D. Sparks Jr. and wife, Vickie of Bramwell; three step-grandchildren, one niece, one nephew, one great-niece, mother-in-law, Zettie Cannandy of Elkhorn; and a host of other family and friends. Brenda was a caring and loving person who always had a concern for others and will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Widener Funeral Home Chapel, Northfork, with the Rev. Shawn Bragg and the Rev. Ronald Miller officiating. Burial will follow at the Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Princeton. Friends may call today from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Serving the family as pallbearers will be Joseph Cannady, David Cannady, Keith Abel, Michael Ball, Tommy White, and Pat Davis. Arrangements by Widener Funeral Home, Northfork and Kimball. on April 10, 2004.1

He was preceded in death by one brother, Roy A. Cannaday, a sister Hazel Cannaday Helms and a half-brother, Norman Odell Sutphin. He is survived by his wife, Marie Dobbins Cannaday, one daughter, Brenda G. Cannaday, Vinton; two sons, Harry B. Cannaday, Jr., Morristown, Tenn; Roger D. Cannaday, Salem; five grandchildren, Amy M. Cannaday, Knoxville, Tenn; Melissa and Steve Cannaday, Morristown, Tenn; Todd H. Cannaday, Independence; Laura C. Cannaday, Salem; two half-brothers, George A. Sutphin, Bellflower, Calif; Wilton L. Sutphin, Floyd; one stepsister, Ola S. Latta, Greensboro, N.C; three stepbrothers, Elvin Sutphin, Hyattsville, Md; Jesse Sutphin, Floyd; Isaac Sutphin, Roanoke, stepgrandmother, Ethel A. Cannaday, Martinsville; one uncle, Stanford A. Cannaday, Roanoke. Funeral services will be conducted at Oakey's Vinton Chapel 1:00 p.m. Monday by Elders Amos I. Hash and Hale Terry, followed by a short graveside service in the Cannaday Family Cemetery at Floyd. Memorials may be made to Paynes Creek Primitive Baptist Church, 5320 Green Meadow Road, S.W., Roanoke, VA 24018. Friends may call at Oakey's Vinton Chapel. on January 9, 1988.4
