He served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Force. Marvin was a retired salesman. While working in this field, he helped very many people and for sure never met a stranger. He was a member of the American Legion for 25 years. Marvin is survived by his wife, Sybil Richards of Roanoke; daughters, Robin Palmer, Patsy Poindexter and husband, Dale of Roanoke, Tammy Ingebritson of Lexington, Ky., Julie Richards and fiancee, Bill Harrison of San Marcos, Calif; sons, Fred Reynolds and wife, Lou of Northern Virginia, David Reynolds and wife, J'Roi of Maryland; granddaughter, Amy Tindell and husband, Roger; great-grandson, Owen Tindell of Norco, Calif; brother and sister-in-law, James and Eloise Richards ; sister, Sandra Baker. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 13, 2001 at 10 a.m. at Lotz Salem Chapel with Pastor Mark Vaughn officiating. Interment in Sherwood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Good Samaritan Hospice. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Lotz Salem Chapel. on August 12, 2001.2
