Phyllis Marlene Kessler1,2,3
F, b. July 29, 1933, d. June 5, 2023
Phyllis Marlene Kessler Phyllis Marlene Hall, 89, of Blue Ridge passed away, Monday, June 5, 2023 at her home. Phyllis was the daughter of Talmage and Ola Kessler, she was born on July 29, 1933 in Roanoke, Virginia. She graduated from Jefferson High School. She then went on to meet the man of her dreams, Willard Marvin Hall, and they married on April 4, 1953. Phyllis and Willard had been married for 60 years. Phyllis and Willard lived a good life. Willard provided for his family very well. Phyllis was a stay-at-home Mom. After trying the work force, they both decided she was needed at home to take care of her family. She did an outstanding job. Phyllis always liked to stay busy. Whether it be shopping, taking tours with her sisters and best friend, sister-in-law, Lola Kessler, to cooking, cleaning, mowing the lawn. Phyllis was a great cook. Some of her best dishes were Macaroni n Cheese and her famous Banana Pudding she use to make all the time. Phyllis was an honest person, and would do anything for anyone, all you had to do was ask. Phyllis was not the type of person to beat around the bush, she spoke the truth, and when she spoke, you had better listen. She lived in the house her and Willard bought together, it was a struggle at times, but when the day came, the house was paid off, excitement was everywhere. It was rough living alone after Willard passed away, but she continued to maintain her independence, and would have it no other way. Phyllis did not drive, but she did have her son, Cecil and daughter, Teresa to make sure she went without any need. Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Willard Marvin Hall. Phyllis has two surviving children, son, Cecil Hall Sr; daughter, Teresa Easterling; five grandchildren, Cecil, Jr., Jessica (Jason), Zachary (Alisha), Shiela (Dallas), and Anthony (Jessica); five great-grandchildren, Damien, Cheyanne, Tyler, Avery, and Gracie; and numerous nieces and nephews. Phyllis will be missed dearly, but we know she is at peace now. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.3 She was buried at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, 5737 Airport Road NW, Roanoke, Virginia.3 She was born on July 29, 1933 at Roanoke, Virginia.2,3 As of April 4, 1953,her married name was Hall.1 She married Willard Marvin Hall, son of Taft Clark Hall and Ressie Evelyn Collins, on April 4, 1953 at Roanoke, Virginia.1,3 Phyllis Marlene Kessler died on June 5, 2023 at Blue Ridge Springs, Botetourt Co., Virginia, at age 89.3
