Police said Blaicher was walking across the highway to get a newspaper at about 8:30 a.m. Friday when he was struck by a south-bound 1960 model car being driven by Joseph Roark, 53, of Princeton. No charges were filed in the incident, according to D. R. Bowman, investigating state trooper. Burial will follow in Gleneo Cemetery, Big Stone Gap, Va. Born at Big Stone Gap, he was a son of the late William and Willie Jane Blaicher. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Edith Thomas Blaicher, two sons, Charles and Ernest Blaicher of the home; two sisters, Mrs. Ray Sisk of Maple Acres and Mrs. Archie Day of Big Four. on November 21, 1970.5

William David Frost Sr. William David Frost Sr., 78, of Bluefield, who recently accepted Jesus as his Savior, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 26, 2002 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center. Born on December 11, 1923, in Hillsville, Va., he was a son of the late James and Victoria Warf Frost. He was a retired coal miner working over 40 years with U.S. Steel in McDowell County and was also a member of the UMWA. Mr. Frost attended the Independent Bible Church of God at Rock. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Milton, Lester, and Samuel Frost; sisters, Ruby and Beatrice Frost; and two grandchildren, Carmella and Sherman Wiley. Survivors include sons, William David Frost Jr. and wife, Phyllis of Bluefield, Wesley Frost of Bluefield, James Frost and wife, Ersie of Bluefield, and Sammy Frost and wife, Claudia of Welch; daughters, Pearl Brimm and husband, Douglas of Bluefield, Vickie Carroll and husband, Roger of Bluefield, Diana Scott and husband, David of Bluefield, and Bertha Ann (Susie) Sweeney-Jewell of Bluefield; 15 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren; half-brother, Walter Alley of Hillsville; and special friend and flea market buddy, Jack Noe. Survivors include his loving wife of 38 years, Pearl Brimm of the home; sons, William Douglas Frost and wife Paullette of Princeton, Douglas Eugene Brimm, Jr. and girlfriend Ashley of Glenwood; daughters, Barbara Jean Smith and James of Bluefield, Va., Rhonda Michelle Dinger and husband Jerry of Brushfork; brothers, Don Brimm and wife Lil of Vidalia, Ga., Jack Brimm of New York; sister, Barbara Boyd and husband Richard of New York; 16 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several in-laws, nieces and nephews; three children he was grandpa to by heart, Summer, Nicholas, and Cody Sells; loving and caring hospice family including Crystal and Robin; special lil dog, Trouble, who adored him. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell with Dale Flanery, Richard Jarvis, Joseph Lambert, Tim Hunt, David E. Scott, Adam Snow and Ronald Brimm serving as pallbearers.
