     Betty Jean Sims was buried at Sharon Memorial Park, 5400 Monroe Road, Charlotte, Mecklenburg Co., North Carolina.2 Her Social Security Number was 239-50-4760.5 She was born on September 18, 1932 at Charlotte, Mecklenburg Co., North Carolina.5,3 As of circa 1958,her married name was Pressley.1 She married Douglas Shannon "Doug" Pressley Sr. circa 1958.1,2 Betty Jean Sims died on May 19, 2006 at Mecklenburg Co., North Carolina, at age 73.5,2 She Betty J. Pressley - Mrs. Pressley died Friday, May 19, 2006 at home surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was a native of Charlotte, NC and attended Central High School and Limestone College in Gaffney, SC. Words cannot express the deep sadness and loss felt by her entire family and friends. We will miss her sharp wit, her humor, her compassion, but mostly her love. Along with her husband of 48 years, Douglas S. Pressley, Sr., she is survived by her three children: daughter, Sherry Sanders and husband Randall, of Simpsonville, SC, son, Douglas S. Pressley, Jr. and wife Sheryl, of Stanfield, NC and daughter, Julie Loucks and husband Matthew, of Charlotte, NC; the joys of her life, her five grandchildren, Lee and Brian Sanders, Kristen and Shelby Pressley, and Faith Loucks; her sister, Judy Bennett; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service was held Sunday, May 21, 2006 at Sharon Memorial Park. The Pressley's would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. William R. Mitchell and his nursing staff at the University office. They would also like to extend a deep appreciation to Hospice & Palliative Care of Charlotte, especially Laura Esposito and Rebecca Dose of the Northeast Team for their outstanding care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, please send your memorials to Hospice at Charlotte, 1420 E. 7th St., Charlotte, NC 28204. Harry and Bryant Company is serving the Pressley family. on May 22, 2006.2

     His Social Security Number was 239-54-7448.3 Douglas Shannon "Doug" Pressley Sr. was buried at Sharon Memorial Park, 5400 Monroe Road, Charlotte, Mecklenburg Co., North Carolina.2 He was born on October 16, 1938 at High Point, Guilford Co., North Carolina.3,2,4 He married Betty Jean Sims, daughter of William Sylvester Sims and Thelma Louise Sifford, circa 1958.1,5 Douglas Shannon "Doug" Pressley Sr. died on October 20, 2009 at Huntersville, Mecklenburg Co., North Carolina, at age 71.3,2 He Douglas Shannon Pressley, Sr. - Mr. Pressley, of Charlotte, NC, died October 20, 2009 at the Levine Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville, NC, of cancer. His children were by his side. Doug was born October 16, 1938 in High Point, NC. He retired after more than 30 years of service from Duke Power. Dad lived a life full of laughter, love and hugs. He will be greatly missed by his entire family and friends. We are at peace knowing he has finally reunited with his beloved "Slim". Doug was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Betty S. Pressley. Surviving him are his three children: daughter Sherry Sanders and her husband Randall of Columbia, SC; son Douglas Shannon Pressley, Jr. and his wife Sheryl of Oakboro, NC; and daughter Julie Loucks and her husband Matthew of Charlotte; his five grandchildren: Lee and Brain Sanders, Kristen Pressley Hatley and her husband Chris, Shelby Pressley and Faith Loucks; two great grandsons: Peyton and Carson Hatley; brother John Pressley of Ocean Isle Beach; and sister Nancy Joyce of Raleigh. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hospice & Palliative Care of Charlotte. The family would like to send a special thanks to JoAnn, Anita, and the entire Levine Hospice House staff - your compassion and care are extraordinary. Thanks to the 6th floor staff of Mercy Rehab, and thanks to Dr. William Mitchell for his assistance with dad's care. A private funeral was held Thursday, October 22, at Sharon Memorial Park. The family was assisted by Harry & Bryant Co. on October 23, 2009.2
