Surviving are one son, Frank L. of Seattle; three daughters, Colleen Johnson of Knoxville, Mrs. David (Bee) Reynolds of Galesburg and Mrs. Richard (Melody) Bowen of Avon; one sister, Mabel King of Galesburg; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. One son, Jimmie Glee, and four brothers preceded him in death. He operated a trucking and corn shelling business in DeLong, retiring in 1966. He was a past member of Moose Lodge and Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge 518. Private graveside services will be Saturday at Haynes Cemetery in DeLong. on September 10, 1994.5

Mr. Whitcomb was a member of the Clover Chapel Church at Woodhull. On Sept. 18, 1940, he married Maxine L. Jones at Canton, Mo. She survives with a son, Max, at home; three daughters, Mrs. Larry (Joan) Murk of St. Augustine, Linda of Rockford and Mrs. Richard (Jackie) Copeland of Evergreen Park; a brother, Wayne of California; his mother, Mrs. Frank Riel of Galesburg, and two grandchildren. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens. on January 3, 1968.2 He died on January 3, 1968 at Galesburg, Knox Co., Illinois, at age 49.4,2

He is survived by his two sons, Gregory (Jane Anne) Parrish of Indianola, Iowa, and Jeffery (Cindy) Parrish of Louisville, Kentucky; two stepsons, Bruce (Susie) Johnson of Galesburg and Gary (Luann) Johnson of Dahinda; two stepdaughters, Janice (Don) Sundquist of Galesburg and Dorrene (Mike) Endicott of Rock Island; four grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; five great-grandchildren; 15 stepgreat-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and his lifelong friends, Pat and Donna Godsil of Galesburg. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two sisters, Lucille Harris and Coreen Ryner; and two brothers, Ernest and Robert Parrish. Edwin served in the U.S. Navy as a seaman first class for two years in the Pacific. He worked for the Maytag Corporation for 37 years, retiring in 1989. He was a member of the Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post 285. Edwin was an avid bingo player. One of his great joys was watching his grandson race cars. Burial will be later in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens. on March 27, 2018.3

Also surviving are her two sons, Rick Johnson of Galesburg and Todd Johnson of Kansas; one daughter, Gina (John) Beardsley of Delong; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Frank (Trice) Howerter of Arizona; two sisters, Bee Reynolds of Knoxville and Melody (Terry) Andrews of Galesburg. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. A graveside memorial service will be Saturday, March 30, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the Haynes Cemetery in rural Delong. on March 24, 2013.3

(Keesey) Brane, 69, died at 4:37 p.m. Sunday in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. She was born to the late Donald B. and Ruth L. (Moore) Keesey. She graduated from Marion High School in 1952. She was a machine operator at the Dana Corp. Marion plant for seven years and an inspector at the Andrews plant for 19 years, before retiring in 2000. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church and enjoyed crafts, crochet and needlework. Survivors include her daughters, Debbie M. (John) Brane-McIlwain, Marion, and Carla R. Brane, Andrews; a sister, Dixie (James) Aldrich, Anderson; grandsons, John McIlwain II and Michael McIlwain, both of Marion; and several nieces and nephews. She also was preceded in death by daughter, Maxine Brane. Services are at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in St. James Lutheran Church, 1206 N. Miller Ave., with the Rev. Mark Carlson officiating. Burial is in Grant Memorial Park cemetery. Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, and 9:30 a.m. until services Thursday at the church.
