He was a son to the late Herman Grady Sr. and Plina Sue Bartlett. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Mickey Lynn Bartlett. Surviving are his wife, Shirley W. Baker-Bartlett; son, Todd Allen Bartlett; and stepson, William "Willie" Mosby Baker, all of Blacksburg. Also surviving are his brothers and sisters-in-law, Elwood and Louise Bartlett, of Yorktown, Va., Dr. Herman G. Bartlett Jr. and Susan, of Radford, and Thomas and Tammy Bartlett, of Colonial Heights, Va; mother-in-law; Verbena D. Walters, of Christiansburg, brothers-in-law and sistersin-law, Kelly and Virginia Walters, of Christiansburg, Brenda and Billy Thomas, of Christiansburg, and Jean Walters, of Salem; and a special friend who he considered to be another son, Samuel Bostwick Jr. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Interment will follow in the McKenzie Cemetery in Galax with Military Honors presented by the Hillsville VFW Post #1115. on September 4, 2008.²

He is survived by his wife, June Clingenpeel of Florence, Oregon; daughter, Dayna Devlin of Florence, Oregon; son, Craig Clingenpeel of Encinitas, Calif; mother, Annah Lee Crawford of Roanoke, Va; brother, Andy Clingenpeel and wife, Connie of Roanoke, Va; nephew Brian Clingenpeel; niece, Amy MacGregor; and numerous cousins and other family members. on November 7, 2005.²

     Andrew Elmore "Andy" Clingenpeel was buried at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, 5737 Airport Road NW, Roanoke, Virginia.^1,4 His Social Security Number was 224-52-7946.⁹ He was born on September 27, 1941 at Roanoke, Virginia.^9,5,6 He married Connie Jeanette Meyerhoeffer on September 30, 1967 at Augusta Co., Virginia.^2,5 Andrew Elmore "Andy" Clingenpeel died on February 22, 2008 at Roanoke, Virginia, at age 66.^2,9,10 He Andrew Elmore Clingenpeel, 66, of Roanoke, went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 22, 2008. He was an active member of North Roanoke Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher and on various committees. He was a member of the Virginia Association of Assessing Officers, and served on the Board of Equalization for Roanoke County. He was retired from Norfolk Southern. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph W. Clingenpeel; brother, Jerry Clingenpeel. He is survived by his wife, Connie Meyerhoeffer Clingenpeel; son, Brian (Beth) Clingenpeel; daughter, Amy (Paul) MacGregor; grandchildren, Rachel Clingenpeel, Caleb Clingenpeel, Autumn MacGregor and Drew MacGregor; mother, Annah Lee Crawford ; sister-in-law, June Clingenpeel; brother-in-law, Bobbie (Peggy) Meyerhoeffer, sister-in-law, Kay Thompson. The interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. on February 25, 2008.²
