He was preceded in death by his parents Merv and Grace Wendelken and his brother Robert. His is survived by his wife Shirley Wendelken of Marietta, children Debbie Nelson of GA, Steven Wendelken of OH, Rick of VA, and Joy of AL, step-children Jerry Rodes of Marietta, Pam of WV, and Michael of FL; brothers Mervin Wendelken, and David Wendelken. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Richard was a member of Soul’s Harbor Baptist Church and active in the local Gideon’s group. He previously owned several local businesses in the Marietta area. Funeral services will be held 11 am Saturday, August 5th at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Hughes officiating. Burial will follow in St. Jacob’s Cemetery.2 He married Shirley Arbutis Pittman, daughter of Basil Wayne Pittman and Alma Mae Lilly.1 Richard Dean Wendelken was born on April 9, 1935 at Ohio. Patricia Ann "Pat" Pittman Patricia Ann Reid, 67, formerly of Beckley, died Monday, May 29, 2006, in Stevenson. Born July 25, 1938, in Beckley, she was the daughter of the late Basil Wayne and Alma Mae Lilly Pittman. Mrs. Reid was a homemaker and had been a resident of Stevenson for the past two years. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Alexander Reid, in 1993, and a sister, Doris Lee Redlinger. Survivors include her two daughters, Kim Arndt and her husband, Dwayne, of Stevenson and Debbie Davis and her husband, Arthur, of Daniels; four sons, Robert A. Reid II of Franklinton, N.C., Charles W. Reid of Greenville, S.C., and James Shawn Reid and W. Scott Reid, both of Beckley; three sisters, Barbara Hamilton of Boise, Idaho, Mary Maxey of Crab Orchard and Shirley Wendelkin of Marietta, Ohio; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Calfee Funeral Home Chapel, Beckley, with Pastor Roger Pauley officiating. Glen Bee Bowling Our dear father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother, Glen B. Bowling finished his race and went to see his Savior "Face to Face" on Wednesday, January 21st, 2015. Glen died of an apparent heart attack at Mattsville Community Church while attending Wednesday night services. He was in 89th year. The second of fifteen children, Glen was born on Feb. 9th, 1925, at Sharples. He was the son of the late Oscar G. and Mable Fitzpatrick Bowling. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by eight brothers and four sisters. A retired coal miner from Westmoreland Coal Company, Glen worked for 35 and ½ years. He was a member of the UMWA, Local Union 5770. Glen was a faithful member of the Mattsville Community Church. Glen was a devoted family man. In the mid 1940's he met a pretty girl at G.C. Murphy in downtown Beckley. Her name was Lavelle Polk. And as they say, "The rest is history." Glen and Lavelle were married on Aug. 25th, 1945. They were blessed to raise four children, Janet, Helen, Kenneth and Freddie. After almost 62 years of marriage, Lavelle passed away on April 25th, 2007. This past July 27th, Kenneth died after a long illness. And now, "Oh Glad Reunion." Those left to cherish Glen's memory are his surviving daughters and son, Janet Bowling, Helen Wheeler and Freddie Bowling and his wife, Fran all of Beckley; the dear grandfather of Ruth Trivitte and her husband, Gerald, Randall Wheeler Jr. and his wife, Rita, Brandon Wheeler and Crystal Frazier; the proud great grandfather of Nick Simmons, Aiden Wheeler, David and Grace Boggs, Chasity, Amber and Kaitlyn Bowling; the fond brother of Dewey Bowling and his wife, Juanita of Manassas, VA and Mamie Johnson and her husband, Don of Orient, OH; and a large extended family. Glen had many friends. He never met a stranger and was gracious to everyone. Kenneth Jarrel Bowling On Friday, July 11th, 2014, our most cherished Kenneth Bowling of Stanaford passed at the Beckley Veterans Area Medical Center. He was 68 years of age. Affectionately known as "Kenny," Kenneth Jarrell Bowling was born on June 15th, 1946, in Beckley. The first of four children, he is the son of Glen B. Bowling of Harper Heights and the late Lavelle Polk Bowling. Kenneth spent his childhood at Harper Heights. He was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School, Class of 1964. Kenneth served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam Era. Tragically, Kenneth was one of those brave young men who went to serve his country and was exposed to Agent Orange, which has left him severely disabled in later years. When he was well, Kenneth worked at the Eccles Mines for 15 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with family. He was of the Christian faith. Kenneth's wife, Patricia Ann Bowling, preceded him in death in 2012. In addition to his father, Glen, Kenneth leaves to cherish his memory his fiancee, Penny Young; his sisters and brother, Helen Wheeler and Janet Bowling and Freddie Bowling all of Beckley; nieces and nephews, Ruth Trivitte and her husband, Gerald, of Mocksville, NC, Randall Wheeler Jr. and his wife, Rita, of Tobaccoville, NC, Brandon Wheeler and his wife, Crystal, of Dobson, NC, and Crystal Frazier and her husband, Chris, of Archdale, NC; several great-nieces and nephews survive, as well as many friends.3 He was buried at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, 5250 Robert Centre Byrd Drive, Prosperity, Raleigh Co., West Virginia.2 He married Patricia Lynn Williams.6 Kenneth Jarrel Bowling was born on June 15, 1946 at Beckley, Raleigh Co., West Virginia.2,3 He died on July 11, 2014 at Beckley, Raleigh Co., West Virginia, at age 68.2,3

Patricia Lynn Williams Patricia Lynn Bowling 58, of Stanaford passed away Friday May 4, 2012 in Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital following a long illness. Pat was born August 30, 1953 in Josephine, the daughter of the late John and Louise Tilson Williams. Pat was a former food server at Raleigh General Hospital, and loved playing games and being with her family and friends. Survivors include her husband Kenneth Bowling, and one brother David Williams of Akron Ohio. Graveside services will be held in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.1 Her married name was Bowling.1 She married Kenneth Jarrel Bowling, son of Glen Bee Bowling and Maudie Lavelle Polk.1 Patricia Lynn Williams was born on August 30, 1953 at Josephine, Raleigh Co., West Virginia.1 She died on May 4, 2012 at Beckley, Raleigh Co., West Virginia, at age 58.1

Janet Marie Bowling Janet Marie Bowling 67, of Beckley, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 8th, 2020. Janet was born on September 1st, 1953, in Beckley to her parents, the late Glen and Lavelle Bowling. Janet was also preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth J. Bowling. Janet is survived by her son, Freddie Bowling; granddaughters, Chasity (Hunter) Wooten, Amber Bowling and Kaitlyn Bowling; sister, Helen Wheeler; nieces, and nephews, Ruth (Gerald) Trivitte, Crystal (Chris) Frazier, Randall (Rita) Wheeler Jr. and Brandon Wheeler; a large extended family and friends who will her dearly. Janet enjoyed reading books, hanging out and talking with friends. She spent many years working the public work sector. One of her favorite jobs was waitressing at the Spaghetti House in Bradley.
