She is survived by her sister-in law, Jean Poff Galloway; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bill and Kathy Poff, and Bob and Annette Poff. Also surviving are two nephews, Rodney Galloway and Robbie Poff and family; and a close cousin, Joe Sowers. Joyce worked closely with her husband at his family's construction business, Poff Construction, Inc. and later Hallmont Homes. She was a long-time member of the Christiansburg Brethren Church, and later worshipped at Cedar Springs Union Church in Rogers, Va. The family would like to thank all of those who cared for Joyce at The Crossings/English Meadows. Their kindness and love for her were so obvious. The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 1, 2019, at Horne Funeral Chapel with Robbie Poff officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery. on April 1, 2019.3

Born in Princeton, WV, on June 13, 1935, he was the son of the late Leo and Minnie (Hall) Cecil. Mr. Cecil served his country proudly in the U.S. Army. After his discharge, he began working as a carpenter. Over the years, he worked for many area builders. He enjoyed hunting, fishing (trout), NASCAR, especially Dale Earnhardt, and feeding the squirrels. Most of all, he loved his family, especially his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Blake Cecil; two brothers and two sisters. Survivors include his daughters: Cindy L. Willis (Perry) and Sheila A. Bartow, both of North East, MD; his brother, Robert Cecil (Ila) of Odessa, DE; nine grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. He is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held Saturday, January 14, 11 a.m. from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton. Inurnment will follow in the Hall Cemetery on Hall’s Ridge Road in Princeton. on January 10, 2017.2

Manning, 73, of Roanoke, went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 1, 2008. Harold was born May 22, 1935, to Delia and Claude Manning and was the youngest of four children, with whom he has held a life long, loving bond. He attended Jefferson High School, where he met his cherished wife, Joyce. Harold and Joyce were married on June 23, 1956 at West End Presbyterian Church where Harold was a member and, in later years, served his church family as an Elder. Together he and Joyce lovingly raised three boys in Southwest County. Harold spent his professional career working with office furniture companies in Roanoke. He helped many large and small businesses in Roanoke and Southwest Virginia with their furniture needs and met many wonderful people and life long friends in the process. He retired as President of Office Furniture USA in Roanoke. Harold was an active member and Past Master of the Cave Spring Masonic Lodge No. 230 where he earned both the 32-Degree Scottish Rite and York Rite levels of Masonry. Harold was also a member of the Kazim Shrine Temple, where he was invited to be a member of the Royal Order of Jesters Court Number 59 and served on the Directors Staff holding the title of Past Director. Harold and Joyce were active with the BPO Elks No. 197 were they helped deliver holiday gift baskets to needy families during the holidays. Later in life he was blessed with the gift of seven grandchildren. He took great pleasure in teaching his grandchildren to play "patty cake" as they sat on his knee, making-up songs about them and giving them nicknames. Most of all Harold enjoyed people he never met a stranger. Harold is survived by his loving wife Joyce; their three sons and their wives, Scott and Jennifer Manning, Todd and Marlene Manning, and Mark and Patti Manning; and his wonderful grandchildren, Wallis, Claire, Keegan, Harper, Clark, Paige, and Austin. He is also survived by his three sisters, Frances Kitts, Lucille Upshaw, and Connie Owen; and brothers-in-law, Charles Upshaw and Durward Owen. Harold is preceded in death by his loving parents and his friend and brother-in-law, Bill Kitts, nephew Jerry Kitts and nephew Warren Crawford. The family would especially like to thank Dr. Daniel Camden for working tirelessly to improve Harold's quality of life during his illness and all the other healthcare professionals that assisted. Masonic Rites will be by Cave Springe Lodge #230 A.F. & A.M. on August 2, 2008.1
