He is survived by on son, Aaron Ayscue of Willis, Texas; three daughters, Stephanie A. Roys of Texas, Angela A. Faught of Columbus, Ohio, and Alicia Ayscue of Willis, Texas; one brother, Ralph Ayscue of Moyock, N.C; one sister, Ruby A. Hammons of Ellenwood, Georgia; and three grandchildren. Serving as active pall bearers will be Dennis Boone, Bruce Stewart, Walter Lawton, Tony Finch, Michael Ayscue, Michael Ayscue, II, Tyler Dellinger, and Tracy Ayscue. The family would like to thank his sister-in-law, Louise Ayscue and nephew, Mike Ayscue for all the care they had given him. on August 12, 2008.⁴

He joined the merchant marine when he was 16, sailed throughout the world and came to Vancouver 20 years ago. He retired a year ago as a first mate. "He liked to make things with his hands," said a family member. She said Mr. Sigler made macrame and leather items during his off-watch hours at sea. He was a member of the International Organization of Masters, Mates and Pilots, Portland. Survivors include his widow, Hillia, at home; a stepson, Galan Balmes of Vancouver; a daughter, Beverly Meier of Vancouver; and a granddaughter. Mr. Sigler's remains will be cremated and buried at sea. on April 4, 1978.⁴
