Mr. Dennler was a member of Gatewood Church of God. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy and was a World War II veteran. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Violet (Don) Pennington; brother, Charles (Elsie) Dennler; loving wife, Lawanna Jo Whitt Dennler; sister, Jeannie (surviving husband, Charlie) ­­­­Fulghum; and sister, Betty (Ed) Hall. Left to cherish his memory are his three sons: Timothy (Rachele) Dennler of Oak Hill, Kenneth (Mary) Dennler of Fayetteville, and Brian Scott (Shirley) Dennler; two brothers: Bernard (Alga) of TN and Robert (Jane) Dennler of Fayetteville; six grandchildren, Joshua, Megan, Tyler, Coty, Lora, and Nicole Dennler; great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Services are at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Toccoa Church of God by the Revs. Harlon Noles, Bob Wescott, Jerrell Beatty and Dennis Rafala officiating. Flowers are optional, or memorials may be made to Northeast Georgia Hospice, 743 Spring St., Gainesville, Ga. 30501 in memory of Beverly Jean DennlerFulghum. Howery, 45, prominent Christiansburg Physician died early Thursday morning at the New Altamont hospital where he had only been a patient since the evening before He became ill the latter part of the week with influenza and pneumonia developed on Monday He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Nell S. Howery and three daughters, Helen, Nell and Jackie Howery of this place; his mother, Mrs. Mary Howery of Calloway and two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Prillaman also of Calloway and Mrs. Ella Spangler of Plainsfield, N. J. Funeral services will be held this afternoon at three O'clock at St. Paul's Methodist church and interment will be made in Sunset Cemetery. Dr. Howery, who was born in Floyd County, came to Christiansburg nearly eight years ago from city of Radford. He had been a practicing Physician there for four years, after being located at Riner. He had come to Riner shortly after graduation from Medical School.3 He was born on March 23, 1886 at Floyd Co., Virginia.1,2,7,4 He married Nell Virginia Sharitz on July 16, 1913 at Riner, Montgomery Co., Virginia.6,8 Dr. George Grant Howery died on March 8, 1932 at Christiansburg, Montgomery Co., Virginia, at age 45.7,3,4

Howery, died at her home early Friday morning, March 18, 1953, of a heart condition. She was 68 and was a daughterof the late Gordon and Alice E. Baumgardner Sharitz, Christiansburg, Va. Surviving are three daughters, Miss Helen Gray Howery, dean of women at Western Maryland College, Westminster, who resided with her mother; Mrs. Charles Griffin, Newark, Del., and Mrs. Stephen S. Sharp, Havre de Grace. Mrs. Howery was a member of St. Paul's Methodist church, Chrlstiansburg. Funeral services were held at the Richardson funeral home, Chrlstiansburg, Monday morning and interment made in Sunset cemetery. John E. Myers, Jr., was the local funeral director. on March 19, 1953.3

     Helen Gray Howery was buried at Sunset Cemetery, 501 South Franklin Street, Christiansburg, Montgomery Co., Virginia.3 She was born on April 20, 1914 at Riner, Montgomery Co., Virginia.3,4 She died on November 18, 1965 at Baltimore, Maryland, at age 51.3,4 She Westminster, Nov, 19 - A prayer service for Miss Helen Gray Howery, dean of women and an associate professor of English at Western Maryland College, was held last night at the Baker Memorial Chapel on campus. Miss Howery, 51, died Wednesday following an operation at the Greater Baltimore Medical Center. Funeral services were to be held in Christiansburg. Va. Miss Howery, a Shakespearean scholar, joined the faculty in 1947. For many years, she taught courses in Shakespeare, Keats and Shelley. She was the principal administrator and adviser of more than 450 women students. Born in Virginia Miss Howery was born in Riner, Va., and was graduated from Radford College. She received her master's degree and doctorate in English from Columbia University. She taught in Virginia high schools and then in 1945 joined the Western Michigan University faculty. Miss Howery was also adviser to the Women's Council, the Honor Court and the Freshman Advisory Council. She was a member of many professional associations. She had served as president of the Regional Association of Women Deans and Counselors and was an advisory editor for Campus Bound, a guidance service for high school students. Other Groups She was also a member of the American Association of University Women, the Delta Kappa Gamma teaching sorority and the National Council of Teachers of English. In Westminster she was a member of the Methodist Church. Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Nell H. Griffin, of Farmville, Va., and Mrs. Jacqueline H. Sharp, of Havre de Grace, Md. on November 19, 1965.4
