Helen Naomi Richards was buried at Floral Garden Memorial Park, 1730 English Road, High Point, Guilford Co., North Carolina.6 She Mrs. Helen Richards Testino, 82, resident of High Point, passed away November 25, 2011 at Pennybyrn at Maryfield. A resident of this area most of her life, Mrs. Testino was born on November 5, 1929 in Princeton, WV to the late Roy and Belle Calfee Richards. Mrs. Testino was a devoted homemaker, wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family and traveling. On August 15, 1959, she married Anthony R. Testino, who preceded her in death in 2004. She and her husband were both active members of Conrad Memorial Baptist, where she participated in Sunday school, was a nursery volunteer, choir member, and served on the hospitality committee. Mrs. Testino is survived by her children, Diane McGee and her husband Danny of Rural Hall, Deidre Teague of Winston-Salem, Tonia Schram and her husband Steve of High Point, Joe Testino and wife Anita of Wilson and Anthony Testino, Jr. of Jacksonville, Fl. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. A celebration of Mrs. Testino's life will be held at 3 pm Sunday, November 27th, 2011 at Conrad Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Bob Hiatt and Rev. Marcus Campbell officiating. Born October 18, 1931 at Matoaka, he was the son of the late Roy Richards and Belle Calfee Richards. Mr. Richards was a self-employed service station mechanic at Richards' Shell Station in Princeton for more than 20 years. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy serving four years in the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Shawnee Baptist Church where he served as choir director, deacon and Sunday School teacher. He enjoyed the outdoors including fishing and gardening. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Ray Richards, Frank Richards and infant brother, Howard; and one sister, Beulah Allen. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Maxine Wiley Richards; two sisters, Helen Testino of Winston-Salem, N.C. and Nancy Anthony of Princeton; six nieces; and six nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 3, 3009 at the Rowland H. Bailey Funeral Chapel of the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with the Revs. Ron Richards and Ralph Calfee officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton where military rites will be conducted by the Mercer County Veterans Council. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Memorial contributions may be made to Shawnee Baptist Church, P.O. Box 187, Kegley, WV 24731. Friends may call today from 6-8 p.m. at the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton. He had been in declining health for five months. Mr. Testino was born Jan. 7, 1938 in Mercer County, a son to Joseph Isaiah and Kathleen Burchette Testino. A resident of this area for 44 years, he was a member of Conrad Memorial Baptist Church. While at the church, he was a Sunday School teacher, member of the Baptist Men's Disaster Relief Team and had previously served as choir director for 18 years. He was also a member of the High Point Gideons and a charter member of Ambucs. At the time of his illness he was working for Phillips Interest. On Aug. 15, 1959 he married the former Helen Richards who survives of the home. Also surviving is his mother of High Point; three daughters: Deidre Teague and husband Gil of Winston Salem, N.C., Tonia Schram and husband Steve of High Point and Diane McGee and husband Danny of Winston Salem; two sons: Anthony Testino Jr. of Jacksonville, Fla. and Joe Testino and wife Anita of Wilson, N.C; a sister: Sonja Cornell of Richmond, Va; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Conrad Memorial Baptist Church in High Point with the Rev. Marcus L. Campbell, the Rev. Bob Hiatt and the Rev. Chuck Brawley officiating. Interment will follow in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:30-8:30 p.m. today at the Cumby Family Funeral Service in High Point and other times at the home. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Okie Tosh Polk; three daughters, Hazel, Shirley, and Irene, all at home; one son, Rudolph, at home; three sisters, Mrs. Ruby Ritter, Beckley, Mrs. Garnet Bass, Piney View, Mrs. Clara Cooney, Beckley; two brothers, Perry Polk, Beckley, and Daniel, Sophia. The body will remain at the Calfee Funeral Home until 4 p.m. Sunday when it will be removed to the residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Glen View Baptist Church with the Rev. Frank Monroe and the Rev. Dewey Wilson officiating. Burial will be made in Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Virgil Gunther, Richard Summers, Clinton Wills, William Lively, Earl Grady, and Robert Barn. on April 10, 1955.6
