Also surviving are his godson, Daniel Kinter Locks; his best friend, Charlotte Rae Welsh, both of Downingtown, PA and his furry love, Gabby. He considered himself of the MethoBaptist faith, and was a member of West Asheboro Baptist Church. Brandon had a sincere love of life and adventure, and those that met him could never forget him. He lived through music, both listening and playing. An informal celebration of his life will be held Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014, from 11 a.m. at West Asheboro Baptist Church, 831 Uwharrie St., Asheboro, N.C., with the Rev. Samuel Hicks officiating. Inurnment will be held at Randolph Memorial Park at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to West Asheboro Baptist Youth Group, where Brandon devoted both time and his love. His wife would like to express her deep appreciation for the love and support of friends, family and church family. on January 10, 2014.2

Born June 4, 1929 in Montcalm to the late James Dee Duncan and Alma Christine Dunford Duncan. Woody was a former autobody repairman and coal miner for CONSOL Energy at the Eckman-Page mine in McDowell County, WV. He was of the Baptist faith and member of the VFW-Mercer County post #3112. Woody loved hunting, fishing, and woodworking and was a Korean War veteran with the United States Army. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by six brothers and sisters. Survivors include his loving wife of 61 years, Norma Jean Duncan of Princeton; one son, Glen Duncan and wife Lora of Princeton; two grandchildren, Joshua Duncan of Myrtle Beach, SC and Chris Duncan of Ft. Hood, TX; two step-grandchildren, Leeanne Lowe of Bluefield and Andy Robertson of Princeton; four step great-grandchildren; one brother, Buddy Leo Duncan and wife Grace of Bear, DE; and several nieces and nephews. In keeping with Woody's wishes his body has been cremated. A memorial service to celebrate his life will held at 4:00 PM, Friday May 4, 2018 at the George W. Seaver Chapel of Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with Reverend Marvin Mills officiating. Military Rites will be conducted by the Mercer County Honor Guard. on May 2, 2018.3

He was a retired coal miner, and was also retired from Surface Banana Company of Bluefield. He was preceded in death by his wife. Carlie Phlegar Pigg, and one son, Lonnie L. Pigg, Jr. Survivors: daughters, Mrs. Rev. James (Ruth) Jones of Route 3, Bluefield, Mrs. R. C. (Jean) Hawks of Elliston, Va., and Mrs. Vernon (Charlotte) Underwood of Green Valley; brother, Grover Clifford Pigg of Route 2, Rock; 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. today at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with the Rev. Kermit Keyes officiating, and burial at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. on April 30, 1991.7

     Charlotte Mae Pigg was buried at Underwood-Parker Cemetery, Black Oak Mountain, Rock, Mercer Co., West Virginia.3 Her married name was Underwood.1 She married Verman Montgomery Underwood.1,7,3,4,5 Charlotte Mae Pigg was born on February 29, 1932 at Beckley, Raleigh Co., West Virginia.3 She died on January 12, 2010 at Princeton, Mercer Co., West Virginia, at age 77.3 She PRINCETON — Charlotte Mae Pigg Underwood, 77, of 11 Mimosa MHP, Princeton, passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at her home following a three year illness. Born February 29, 1932 in Beckley, she was the daughter of the late Lonnie Pigg and Carlie Phlegar Pigg. Mrs. Underwood attended the House of Prayer in Montcalm and was a nursing assistant at Princeton Community Hospital for 14 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Verman M. Underwood; and a brother, Lonzo Underwood. Survivors include four sons and one daughter whom she loved dearly, Michael E. Underwood of the home, Jerry W. Underwood and girlfriend Carol Boggs of Princeton, Lonnie J. Underwood and wife Cathleen of Rocky Gap, Va., Beverley V. Underwood and wife, Marlene of Princeton and Brenda Persianni of Greenville, N.C; two sisters, Ruth Jones and her husband the Reverend James Jones of Montcalm and Jean Hawks of Elliston, Va; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 14, 2010 at the Rowland H. Bailey Funeral Chapel of the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor Albert Jerrell officiating. Interment will be at the Underwood Family Cemetery in Princeton at a later date. on January 13, 2010.3

     Verman Montgomery Underwood was buried at Underwood-Parker Cemetery, Black Oak Mountain, Rock, Mercer Co., West Virginia.2 He married Charlotte Mae Pigg, daughter of Lonnie Lonzoe Pigg Sr. and Carlie Phlegar.1,2,3,4,5 Verman Montgomery Underwood was born on October 6, 1927 at Rock, Mercer Co., West Virginia.1,2 He died on August 1, 2002 at West Virginia at age 74.2 He GREEN VALLEY - Verman Underwood, 74, of Green Valley, went to be with Jesus Thursday, August 1, 2002. Born October 6, 1927 in Rock, he was a son of the late Eddie and Clara Quillian Underwood. He had been a resident of Bluefield for 12 years. He was a member of the House of Prayer Church and was a former member of the Bluegrass Gospel Express. In addition his parents, two sisters and two brothers preceded him in death. Survivors include wife, Charlotte Pigg Underwood of the home; four sons, Beverly Underwood and wife Marlene of Princeton, Lonnie Underwood and friend, Cathy of Rocky Gap, Va., Mike Unerwood of the home; Jerry Underwood and friend, Carol of Princeton; one daughter, Brenda Persianni and husband, Darrell of Grifton, N.C; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; two brothers, Joe Underwood of Baltimore, Md., and Michael Underwood of Montcalm; one sister, Sandra Lambert of Baltimore. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Monday at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with the Rev. Albert Jarrell officiating. Burial will follow at the Underwood-Parker Cemetery on Black Oak Mountain in Rock with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m., today.

Born on May 04, 1951 to Zona Mullins Persianni of North Carolina and the late Elmer “Grin” Persianni. Mr. Persianni was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church and had been a resident of Crumpler most of his life. He loved to ride his four-wheeler and spend time with his grandchildren. He served his country with the United States Marine Corps from 1969 to 1971. Darrell was employed by the Carlton Scale Corp as a Scale Tech. Survivors include: Mother: Zona Mullins Persianni of Reidsville, N.C; wife of 36 years: Brenda Underwood Persianni of Crumpler; two sons: Brian Persianni and wife Kristie of Bethel, N.C., Chris Persianni and wife Amy of Grifton, N.C; one daughter: Belinda Dent and husband Mark of Greenville, S.C; special adopted daughter: Angela Stancil and son Noah of Garner, N.C; two brothers: Farrell Persianni of Crumpler, Jesse Persianni of Reidsville, N.C; three grandchildren: Megan, Austin and Thalia Persianni; three step-grandchildren: Naomi, Joel and Caytlin Anderson. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 10, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with the Elders Brice Phillips and John Caves officiating the service. Burial will follow at the Persianni Family Cemetery in Crumpler. Friends and family may call at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home on Friday (today), Feb. 09, 2007 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Serving as pallbearers will be John Caves, Steve Covell, Steve Matheson, Dale Sizemore, Greg Sizemore and James Sleed. The West Virginia National Guard Honor Group will conduct Military Graveside rites. The Cravens-Shires Funeral Home is serving the Persianni family. on February 9, 2007.3
